Right you are; let's fix that!

So, when are your bets that this game will be released? Let's go with a Mon-Sun week wiggle room.

I'm gonna say that it gets on the boat in two weeks, and that it will appear on the shelves during the week of April 6-12

In fact, I think I'll start a separate thread for that. That way we can let this thread die.

Go for it mate

Always gotta be at least one kill joy when the Space Ball references start popping out :(

Raspberry.

Only one man dares to give me the raspberry!

Well, i aim a week before Mikael and go with March 29 to April 4.

From my estimation, we're about as on course as the ships bearing Armada

Both the Imperial fighter squadron and the new epic raider for X-wing were just updated, with the fighters predicted for Q1 while the raider is now at the printers and expected for Q2.

Clearly there is a Dark Jedi in control of this product launch.

I am starting to gather a list of supplies and cohorts who will join me in raiding the FFG compound to get our copies early.

They should release the box sets ASAP and the expansions when ready.

Why?

Looks like they just recalled the imperial fighters off the boat...

I believe it was on the Scum and Villainy podcast that the X-wing designers said that updating a product to "on the boat" is a deliberate choice when they expect things to go smoothly up until release. Since they want a simultaneous launch for all of wave 1, I suspect we are in a situation where we should either expect everything on the boat somewhat soon or should expect a lengthy time remaining at the printers.

I'm with the people starting to look at April for potential release. The thought of May just hurts my soul though.

7 months later after GenCon...

Armada is also currently less than two weeks away from four months at the printers (11/11/14), and the only products with a longer stay are Warhammer art sleeves (10/15/14). So while they say the printing process varies greatly, I have to think that the statuses (or lack thereof) have all been about coordinating so that the entire wave launches at once. Otherwise it just seems unusual to wait three months to start printing the expansions that were intended to go on sale at the same time.

I'd love to peak behind the scenes of the Armada process, I think that would be super interesting.

I imagine they wanted to get the actual models under production and painted as early as possible while still determining the final rule set and point costs. Thus printing and development were likely occuring at the same time for a portion of the "at the printer's" duration.

Clearly there is a Dark Jedi in control of this product launch.

Let me know when. :)

Is the March-or-later (for USA) confirmed? While this fills me with sad, it does mean I can convert my February buy-me-toys budget to X-Wing.

Nothing about the release date is confirmed. It is all speculation based on previous releases and stuff.

Just got an email from Wayland Games shifting Armada's release date from 30th Jan to 27th March. (All the wave one expansions have slipped to this date also). Combined with Amazon's order date of early March I think this rules out a February release now :(

Well, I saw this, but I'm just a player... and a new one at that... so I'm not sure where Wayland fits into the whole scheme of things: http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/fantasy-flight-games/star-wars-armada/star-wars-armada/prod_29076.html

Ship date says March 27th.

Lol, the circle is now complete, when I left you I was but the apprentice now... err.. ahem ;)

funny coming full circle back to the original post 4 pages later though lol

I though the ship date was supposed to slip to the right until at least 10,000 pre-orders were received.

I intercepted no transmission.....

Remember last time Star Destroyed construction was delayed? ......choke....choke.

Interestingly, FRP Games still lists the release for the core and all the expansions as 2015-2-28.

How reliable is the upcoming games information, anyway? I've seen talk about things coming out later than schedule, but has anything ever come early, with or without being updated on the status page?

I will tell you this much. Ship dates listed on 3rd party websites are not at all accurate. The Fantasy Flight website cannot be trusted at 100%, remember guys, FFG just got bought out which means a whole slew of things.

I tell myself that it is entirely possible for these items to hit distributors while the website showing something totally different.

Not trying to build false hopes here for an "early" release. I am just saying to be ready for tube status of this game to go from printers to shelves quicker than you may be used to.

its always possible they air freight them over from china, unless they're really of the "its done when its done" mindset.

i dont know their history but since all ive read is about ocean shipments im probably just dreaming about them deciding its been to long and loading them onto planes before chinese new year. even shortly after would be cool in my books. haha.

These last days I've been compelled to go to the Upcoming pages and check to see if we're on the boat yet (or if Most Wanted is shipping, or if the Raider -class corvette has gone to the printers).

I am a man obsessed, I tell you.

I check it daily as well... we might need a support group.

We're here for you

We support your daily checking

If enough of us do it, maybe...just maybe...

FFG will do what? Alter the laws of physics so things get finished faster.

If anything I wish FFG was more honest with their time tables. I don't think they are deceptive per say, but when has anything come out when they said it would. When I see Q3 on the site I am pretty sure that means late April at the soonest.

Everything is still at the printers. Things take at least 6 weeks on the boat. I don't know why the boat is that slow, but that is how long things stay in that category, and even then it can take a couple of week once they start distributing figs out. So even if the status was changed to on the boat today today it would likely be 8 weeks before we got them ourselves.

That all being said, I check daily too. I know, I have a problem.
