Stormtroopers! Only *really small* :)
Their posture is terrible, i've alerted the chiropractor.

Maybe that's why they can't hit anything, the constant back spasms throw off their aim.
Nice job. I prefer to view the posture as sheer aggression
Aren't they a little short for storm troopers?
Their posture looks to me like they are stalking/hunting something.
" Be vewwy quiet, we're hunting droids."
Its the classic Games Workshop 'heroic' pose, legs two metres apart
These are quite rare unreleased GW minis from the 80s when GW were trying to get the star wars licence

Didn't they once (80's) have the Doctor Who licence?
Doctor Who, Judge Dredd I think Rogue Trooper too. Ahhh the good old days .
I think I still have an unpainted pack of these guys laying around in my closet.
They did indeed have the Dr Who licence, and the 2000ad one. I have most of the Dr Who range (a lot of it painted) and a fair bit of the 2000ad range.
I've got a load of judges and the angel gang and rogue trooper and norts painted up but the only figures i have to hand to show is the judge child i did in a bout ten minutes the other day.
Dr Who figs without the tardis... gw didnt make that its a recent cast my a small uk company
i've not painted anything really for about six months so most of these are not by best standard (blame xwing prepaints) as i've lost a bit of brush control skill. They were also done in a rush.
I did this as well its a 'test paint' of doing yellow on a lamenters marine before i went and did a full army of 40 or more RT era marines... yellow was a pain to paint so i'm not doing a lamenters army now. Probably going to do luna wolves.
and a feral world human i did as a test piece for another army, i am happy with these skin tones and fur shades so will do the rest of the savages like him..
If anyone is interested a few of us who are all ex GW staff run a blog about old school 80s gaming. Mainly rogue trader and put up battle reports of our games.
You can check it here.

A future one will be the squad of stormtroopers sent to rescue a downed tie interceptor test pilot and destroy the remains of the ship before a rebel commando team can get to them.

Ack...Sensei! Space Slann! Mysterious cities of gold reference! 80's overload!!!
Yep that would be us. playing the games we were inspired by when we were 14 but couldnt do studio paint jobs and proper scenery so played on books under subuteo soccer pitch felt.
We're basically playing the games we *wanted* to play as kids now we have the time, resource and eperience
Why was yellow hard to paint?
A number of reasons.
One you need to use a white undercoat, whites less forgiving than black as you cant use the undercoat to create blackline and deeper shadows. Secondly getting an even coat of yellow without streaks as a bases coat takes time, its not like more heavily pigmented shades. Then you need to ink wash it with a decent sepia to create the shadows and adjust it while it dries so it doesnt pool or streak, then building up the highlights has to be done carefully. Add to that if you make any mistakes its not like doing a normal 'build up with three or four lighter shades' model, its hard to redo a panel and have the yellow match.
Just on the whole yellow is hard to do well, definitely too much faff to do on 40 models.
The older yellows suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked! And one slip with the paintbrush meant alot of grief.
The worst part of painting my space wolves was always the yellow shoulder pads and decoration on my wolf guards.
Confession... i've got an 80s space wolf chapter logo as the centre piece of my right tattoo sleeve.
Ive never had a space wolf army but i've always loved the logo, had it on my rucksack in college, screen printed on vest tops etc.
Mine looks like this:
Sorry for the fairly posey pics but most shots where you can see it im usually on stage with the band or i've just come off stage meeting fans.
Had it so long i forget it's there and it gets lost in the tigerstripes.
Just come off stage at a festival here so im covered in our stage gunk and bit sweaty
Side view of it here:
Bit clearer in the promo shots from the last album/gig season.
I'll finish the sleeve at some point but thick deep blackwork isnt cheap, the current ink goes from my neck and across my chest and down to just above the elbow. Mainly so i can cover it with a shirt when doing WWII living history.
Wierdly dispite it being on my skin since i was about 18 (its been re-inked to keep it black a few times) i dont have any pics easy to find where you can see it flat on... unlike a lot of tattoed people i dont tend to walk around with them out all the time. Mine are mainly for my personal pleasure. They also cover up some nasty wound scars... or at least mean you cant see the place my arm was nearly torn off by fragments as the black stripes take your eyes away from it. If you look up close there is tons of scar tissue on my arm and chest between the stripes.... i just thought, sod it, im scarred for life anyway i may as well have scars i've chosen.
