Lost a Planet he has... how embarrassing hehe

By mjc721, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

ok so i feel like Obi wan talking to Yoda. im trying to find the location of a 2 planets close to each other but cant find them on any chart.

im looking for a rough location of the planets Yakka and Cynestra

anyone able to help

Yaka is very close to Arkania. No idea about the other.

Put Cynestra wherever you want or don't even use it at all since it is not canon. You may already know this, but according to Wookiepedia, the planet Cynestra comes from an unlicensed Star Wars Legends source. Apparently, it was the setting for an West End Games-compatilble adventure published in 1994 in the first issue of an independent rolepaying magazine, Valkyrie . I do not have the magazine. Since it was independent, it was probably not licensed by West End Games either. I doubt they were able to place the planet in a specific place in the galaxy since that would require them to use the names of planets, systems, etc. which are pretty muched copyrighted.

Speaking of planets in the Star Wars universe, has anyone found the location of the planet Lothal in Star Wars: Rebels?

Lothal was probably created specifically for the SW:Rebels storyline, so it won't be present in any source material (such as the Atlas) that predates Rebels.

I think they said it was somewhere in the Outer Rim, but I can't remember any specifics being mentioned on the show.

Lothal had only been colonized for a few decades when the story picks up in Rebels. The place was in economic despair and they invited the Empire to Lothal in exchange for prosperity.

Lothal.. the most boring planet in the galaxy

Where is the capital?

Capital city!

Can you name another city?

Central City!

How about another?

BAH i give up just add -thol to the end

What is that cat like creature called?

Loth-cat

What is that wolf like creature called?

Loth-wolf

What is that rat like creature called?

Loth-rat

I'm sensing a pattern here.

When does this take place in relation to the Battle of Yavin?

NO, We use the LOTHAL YEAR!

And what does that mean?

um.... *mumbles* I guess Lothal year zero is 3258 years before the Empire came to power

What happened then?

NOT TELLING!

Where is Lothal located?

Outer rim

Can you be more specific?

NO, that would limit us

What is the name of it's star?

Duh, Lothal

What else is in the system?

NO MORE QUESTIONS!

Everyone knows that Lothal is located in the outer rim in between the Minos Cluster and the Kathol Sector. It was discovered around 3260ish local years before the Battle of Yavin and named Lothal as a hybridization of the name of the scout who discovered it and the name of the nearest sector (which they thought it would be annexed into). Until officially registered it was named "Ka'gre poodoo sho maasko" in Huttese which roughly translates to "Grass and coprolites."

And yes, I did totally pull that out of my butt....

I'd put it in the same general quadrant as Arda/Yavin at this point. It is off the beaten path a bit, but I'd say not too far off a major trade route. The reason being is that the crew made a reasonably quick (plot speed, I know) jump to Kessel to conduct a raid in the first episode. It's also near enough to Hutt space for Ezra to know Jabba the Hutt by reputation to jokingly use his name.

I couldn't get more specific than that, but I'd be comfortable putting it out there someplace...

Well said Agatheron. And that would put it near Tatooine, which I am all but expecting them to visit in later seasons.

I'd be amazed of a Star Wars series can occur without going to Tatooine at some point. It's a clearly a Plot Force Nexis.

Tatooine:

Show of hands: How many character's adventures started on Tatooine?

Yep, amazing plot nexus!

Um...I seem to have a problem here...

According to my atlas. That'd actually put it on the other side of Hutt space from Tatooine. Granted, there is a hyperspace ring road of sorts. I'd be curious if Tatooine shows up in Rebels...

Tatooine: the backwater speck that seems to be one of the most travelled places in the galaxy. Who knew deserts were so popular?

You're probably right, but actual location seems to matter little in Star Wars.
