Shipment information?

By scubasteve319, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hello everyone,

I am interested in picking up a copy of Descent 2e but I recently found out from my local stores that it has been out of print. I see online that there are currently some "on the boat". Does anyone know how long it takes to get into stores from this point? Or when exactly FFG Q1 2015 occurs?

I don't want to dump $100+ online for a used copy.

Thanks!

FFG follows the calendar year, so their Q1 is from January through March.

Typically, it takes approximately 6-8 weeks from the time it is "on the boat" to get it to retailers.

I did some googling on this yesterday, trying to find out exactly what parts of D2E are and aren't out of print.

Are they still making copies of all of them? Just the base game out of print? If anyone has more in depth details I'd greatly appreciate it.

Okay ... I went to one and only one on-line retailer, CoolStuffInc, and everything that has been produced for Descent Second Edition is currently available on that site. The only exceptions are those things just recently announced. There are other on-line retailers that sell it as well.

This means that this site has the base game, all of the small box expansions, all of the big box expansions, all of the lieutenant packs, all of the hero and monster collections, and the one co-op released to date.

And all of it is offered at discounts from the MSRP.

This post is accurate as of Friday, Jan 23, 2015 @ 8:09 am PST.

Go get it now.

CSI was sold out of the base game yesterday when i originally saw this post, and i just checked again and they're still sold out

for those still looking, one store has a few copies left here in Belgium: www.sheepgames.be, they ship worldwide - got mine from these friendly sellers this weekend!

Found me a copy at a some what local Barnes & Noble store. I was surprised. They had two copies, but none of the expansions.

+1 on Barnes and Noble

Nothing for Descent (Second Edition) is out of print, not permanently anyway. They're just in between print runs on the core box, but more will coming shortly.

In general, they're not going to send part of second edition OOP and keep other parts in print. Certainly not the core box, as that's the one component that everything else requires in order to be used. That just doesn't make sense. Either the whole line will go OOP at once, or the whole line will remain in print.

I wouldn't worry about second edition going OOP forever until you start seeing advertisements for Third Edition.
