What is the difference between rebel & Emps?

By CrypticApathy, in X-Wing

Imperial aren't intergalactic terrorists?

I say, steady on old chap, that's close to slander is that...

I think you misunderstood the post, the Empire fights for intergalactic peace.

We are the most powerful force in the history of the galaxy to be united under one flag, every fight is our fight!

Team Empire Galactic Police!

All good Imperials are experts in Newspeak. CORUSCANT, F-YEAH!

The 1-forward.

Bah, it is called the barrel roll template, though some use it for boosting. Who would be so gauche as to use it for a regular maneuver?

You're just jealous that the E-Wing can do it in three directions, in addition to doing 5 forward. ;)

Big deal tie advanced can go 5 forward and did it long before the flea-wing.

Imperials:

-Higher Agility.
-Ships have defined 'roles'
-Pilot Abilities blend well with specific ships, but often can act more independent if need be.

Rebels:

-Higher Durability

-Ships have more choice for what role they play in the list

-Pilot Abilities are more generalized and have more synergy than Imperial counterparts

When I first started this empire were about swarms a lot of cheap maneuvering ships, and rebels were about strong hard to kill models. Now both factions seem to be the same nothing makes either stand out over the other. Am I wrong in this?

Empire: Fattie Turret + Phantom or Fattie Turret + Mini-swarm

Rebel: Fattie Turret + Corran or Fattie Turret + Mini-swarm

Yeah, they're basically the same **** this Wave.

Hopefully, Wave 6 makes things more varied and interesting.

Because those are the only lists possible? I think you (and others) focus too much on the highly competitive end of the spectrum, which will invariable gravitate towards one or two or so template builds. That doesn't mean the factions as a whole are reflected in those high end lists built around maximizing the value of every single point.

The Tie Advanced, like every other ship that can do a 5 forward, cannot do a 1 forward. The ability to go straight at any speed is great!
