Boba and Dark Curse and who else....

By Rogue Dakotan, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Ok, I've got my list almost figured out for a big tournament coming up.

The only things listed below that I'm willing to change (unless you do some **** good convincing) are the proton bombs, and those I'd only drop down to seismics. Bombs are fun.

Boba Fett + Proton Bombs + Lone Wolf + Rebel Captive

Dark Curse.

65 points so far.

I flew this with Carnor, but I didn't like Jax too much. Too much pressure to get him in close. So I'm looking for a repacement. Probably an interceptor, but I'm willing to consider anything. I've thought about Fel, or two more named Ties, or Vader. Not quite sure yet...

i'm also heavily leaning towards putting a shield or hull upgrade on Boba.

You've got 35 points to finish this team up, what would you add?

If you spend the points on Fett, I'd consider Engine Upgrade over Shield or Hull. Rebel Captive is cool and all but I really like how well Lone Wolf and Recon Specialist complement each other.

Fel definitely fits your available points really well. For something that plays different you could take an OGP Shuttle with Gunner, FCS, and Engine Upgrade for 32. This leaves you 3 points to either put Mara Jade, Tactician (only 2pts.), or Rebel Captive (you'd have to give Fett different crew) on the Shuttle.

that OGP could be pretty nice. Lots more health on the board as well. Rec Spec does seem like a good fit with Lone Wolf. :)

I don't see the how Dark Curse and Fett + Lone Wolf compliment eachother.

If you have Lone Wolf, you ideally want to keep them apart from the rest of your squad. That usually means putting it on the long range support while the rest of your squad goes in for the kill, or putting it on the close range attacker while everything else stays back and shoots.

Fett strikes me as a close range aggressor. Him with Lone Wolf and Proton Bombs, he really wants to get in the thick of the enemy and blast away from either arc.

Dark Curse really doesn't fit the long ranged support type ship.

I think either use the suggestion above of the Shuttle is probably the best, using DC to 'guard' the shuttle while the shuttle and Fett wreck whatever merry hell they can.

I just really like DC and miss having him in my lists. ;)

I'm not great with Shuttles but I've found that a Scimitar Sqaud makes a great buddy for an OGP. They've got the same PS so you can move them in which ever order you need to and the slower dial of the bomber lets it help the Shuttle to slow roll. With Gunner and FCS the Shuttle doesn't care about its actions much.

At 16 points it's an even swap for Dark Curse if you find that he's getting in Fett's way more than he's helping.

a naked scimitar huh? Hmm... I miss DC, but a scimitar would probably make a better wingman for the shuttle.

For your 35 points I would be tempted with an Engine upgrade on Fett and drop Lone Wolf, it's situational at best. That would leave you 33 pts which could buy you a second Bounty Hunter (33) or one of my favorite ships.

Omicron Group Pilot (21), Engine Upgrade (4), Advanced Sensors (3), Gunner (5) = (33). This ship is surprisingly agile with the EU and Adv. Sensors and Gunner makes it very accurate when it comes to putting out damage. It's also a great blocker.

The final advantage is you get to keep Dark Curse.

I only own one Firespray, so adding a bounty hunter is out of the question.

Would you rather have Advanced Sensors and Gunner than Fire Control System and Gunner?

OK, I know I'm going against your initial conditions here but...

Boba (VI, Recon Spec)

Dark Curse

Backstabber

Omicron (FCS, Tactician)

100 points

VI helps Boba really benefit from his ability by moving last. Recon Spec is always good on a Firespray. The Shuttle becomes very annoying so Backstabber and Dark Curse can fly together or on their own to become nuisances as well.

I like Adv Sensors more as it really ups your ability to move and stay on target. Gunner is only useful IF you can shoot and IF you miss.

The sensors allow you to turn 135 degrees in a turn, which will turn the inner edge of your firing arc 180 degrees.

Tried it with the shuttle. Did ok but I'm ditching the shuttle. I'm thinking either RGP + PTL + Hull + Shield or backstabber and Black Squadron with Predator.
