what will be the next new manoeuvre?

By DarkGuard, in X-Wing

we had the red stop with the lambda

Lieutenant Lorrir's barrel roll

the White K-turn with the defender

de-cloaking with the phantom

now we will have the Signor's Loop and the even more hard turn with IG-88D

what do you think will be next?

combining two templates in any order you want? ie 1 bank and 1 straight or 1 straight then the banks

The easiest thing to do would be to be able to fly backwards. But I dont think that will come anytime soon.

The white S-Loop!

2-template boost.

The spinning, that's a neat trick

It's basically a bank, but with a maneuver template made up of spirals

This would be pretty cool as a kind of "braking" ability that instead of just going 0 would propel you backwards in relation to the other ships on the board. I can see that as some kind of illicit card.

A large ship expansion would have room in the box for a 4 bank or 4 turn maneuver template, although when combined with a large base that would represent an exceptionally fast ship.

Either moving backwards, or a negative K Turn.

Pure speculation

4 bank

a 0 speed K turn

Raming/boarding manuever (maybe if bumps it does damage)...Like the decimator pilot.

Larger barrel rolls

The k-barrel roll for the Q-Wing

The 'Asteroids' straight.

When you fly off one side of the board, you reappear on the opposite side.

I've always wondered why an S shaped maneuvre (like using a 1 bank right followed immediately by a 1 bank left) wasn't part of the game (outside of ptl).

The 4 Bank isn't happening. Because FFG would be unable to put it on any small ship, because they would have to include a template with each and every ship that has the new maneuver. I think it is rather telling in how the debris tokens have not been added to the tournament rules.

Yes this is called a side slip, but this forum is some how blocking the use of any WOW or WOG links so I can't post a picture.

For those who don't know this is from the X wings origin game called wings of war aka wings of glory, I have always wanted one in x wing but it requires a new maneuver template.

5 green k turn

2 speed segnor's loop

A neat pilot ability idea (and kind of new maneuver):

"When you reveal a <K-turn> maneuver, you may place your ship so that the end of the maneuver template is in contact with the side of your ship's base instead of the rear of your ship's base."

Basically could represent a slide or 'skidding' maneuver

Put a longer (3+) straight maneuver template between the guides. Move the ship to the end of the guide so that the side of the base touches the left or right edge and the front of the template lines up with the front of the base. The Corellian Slip, more or less as I remember it from the WEG role-playing game. An alternative is to make the 'aft' part of the template line up with the back of the base and move the ship to the other side on the other end of the template.

The effect would be to move ships forward and sideways without changing the direction of the firing arc. Might be interesting for formations that want to go to the front but have to avoid an obstacle.

I think huge ships should have the option to go full stop.

The s-loop if you take a look at it is is for a bank what a K-turn is for a straight. There is already one that uses a modified turn instead of a bank template.

However to get different maneuvers then what we have now you would need to make a different maneuver template much like the u turn for the Bajoran interceptor in the Whizz Kids game Attack Wing.

Don't need two templates

These moves all start with a normal manoeuvre but end with the side of the ship against the template instead of its rear.

Drift Turn - A bank or turn where at the end you place the ship facing in the direction of the turn. Probably a pilot ability or elite for ships with boost and barrel roll. Stressful.

And the inverse

Outside (Tallon) Roll - The bank turn but at the end aim the ship towards the outside of the bend.

A speed 2 boost is not unreasonable - a couple of Attack Wing units have similar abilties.

Alternatively, you could make it part of the manouvre (meaning you could stack boost on top of it) .

Engine Booster - Modification - when you complete a 5 straight maneuver, immediately perform a 2 straight maneuver.

Makes me think of the TIE Experimental M5.

you backtrack with a bank template, but then go forward again with the same bearing with the hard turn of same speed. (small strafe maneuver)?

a Super Forward - using the Range Ruler as your forward, 7?

Or perhaps a U-Turn. Using a Hard 2 and then placing a hard 1 onto it, to form something of a C.
