Torek was a youngling on a field trip when Order 66 was given. The Master has been hiding Torek, and the rest of the party, on Ord Mandel for years. They've just recently been sent on missions. Torek has just provisionally passed the Jedi trials. Torek has never used Heal/Harm as Harm, yet....

Current Status - Wounded to Unconscious courtesty of a Thermal Detonator; so far below threshold that Stim Packs can't bring him around; and the Hyperdrive just failed; and Vaders in-system....

Raistlin was born the a small colonial mining town on the planet Rishi called Den. Havong an incredible capacity with the Force, with incredible kinetic capabilities, his grandfather Raislee and his bothan friend Jakys, both scholar Jedi Knights, tried to bring the child to he Jedi Temple but his parents tried to prevent it. When they finally accepted the child become "too old" and not so much time before that, began the Order 66.

Becoming a great and talented scholar, he departed and purchased a pass, selling the old relics from his grandfather, and travelled to other planets seeking for knowledge and mysteries withouts knowing that the biggest one, was laying on his own home...

Current Status - Travelling with his newly founded team of commando forces to an ancient ruins on the planet Onderon looking for the remains of an ancient and dengerous civilization...

You mentioned cusTom rules. Curious what they are?

Well, for building chars (not all of them and always based on players demands) we use the "pick what you need".

Always we use common sense to justify why do you purchase that upgrade/talent. Also, we try to maintain the carriers and specializations essence.

For example: This char I posted follow the trees above a 80%, the rest are just Talents that we just pick up because that "fit" on the character based on his story like Quick Draw and Natural Charmer. Are like "personal marks" of the PC, so, we just pick up them. The same with FR. This character "suffered" heavy Force transformations due to the plot and his actual Force Rating doesn't correspond to the original.

So, in general games we uses standard rules, but with some concrete situations we build characters as we please or need to fulfill our needs, but again, always trying to respect the trees build because we consider them really well done and coherent :) but we aren't scared to add some "personalization" to chars. If a character made a illumination travel and learned something like "One with the Force" talent, I would not make the player pick up the entire tree XD

How long did it take to collect that much XP? It seems like quite a haul.

It's a conversion of a character that we started on the year 1.999 or above. D6, D20, D20 Heavily Modified, Saga, Saga heavily Modified, Saga + M&M, Custom System and Edge.
