so with the new bannings in effect will we see a wierd deck come through and take everyone by suprise, my thoughts are hilde just beause she has a now more spanky kill than ever.

The entire metagame is all about promo Balrog now.

Before the bannings, Chester's Backing made it too hard to push through the damage pumps on your punches, but now that the life gain has been removed he is an aggro machine : )

I know that I'll be putting anti-Balrog tech in all of my decks. Since he can spam so many punches, Financial Distress seems like a good meta call, but as it's minimum one I'll probably still die eventually anyway.

How will everyone else deal with this threat to the environment?

See, I nearly built a Balrog punch deck...

...but I haven't, I shall be using my new super-secret deck of DOOM!

Alternatively, I'll repeat my success at the PotM, and finish dead last

I think the bannings will have the following effect:

• Raindance has been nerfed. It was a clunky decktype, anyway, but now the disruption for Raindance is much harder to get rid of.
• Turbo Wiggly and Sponge have lost some power, but essentially still rely on big solid attacks so will be fine.
• Haymaker is, as ever, a reliable go-to deck. What it loses, it will replace.
• Scyther remains the best BBP around with free retreat and fighting resistance... and as such the Haymaker meta will continue to be played in every deck.

I can't help but feel that JJ's first form will become totally dominant over everything, forcing people to sandbag into him even if he doesn't share any symbols with the rest of the cards in their deck.

The meta? No more boring Chesters Wars, so I see alot more Rev's Calling to slow things down, and I see Order lockdown taking a dominant effect as fewer pieces are around to stop them - ditto Olcadan's.

My money is on Donovan, fast draw, all the commit tech and an ability that lets him aggro early. Couple this with the newly arrived Cursed Blood and you have an animal that can go off like a shot in the right situation, or play the long game if things don't pan out in the first two turns.

Fer me, anyone that knows me will know that AGGROis the tech, I love it and I sincerely hope the reduction in control tech will give it room to breathe and kick some tooshie!
