I know turrets are out there to drink my milkshake, but...they look so cool on the board.

You're about 1.5 waves early with this list.
Drop Vader for Carnor Jax with PtL and Stealth Device and play Triple-Threat!
Dead quick.
I've run that same setup for Turr and Fel, but instead of Vader I used Whisper with VI and ACD. Won 5 games really fast and then lost the final game equally fast.
I'm not a big tournament player, but my guess is that you're toast fairly quick, for precisely the reason you mention. Squishy glass cannons in a Turret world.
How about you try that squad once auto thrusters are released? Han will eat you for lunch right now.
how does being in South Carolina figure into anything??
What of the rebel fleet massing near Sullust?

It is of no concern.. soon the rebellion will be crushed and young Skywalker will be one of us.
Your work here is finished my friend, go out to the command ship and await my orders.

Pretty much that.

Oh and this one too.
It's actually not as bad as it seems. Fat Han isn't going to be fun, but you can smoke a Dash list and give Decimators a hard time.
Most non-turret lists should go in your favor, although 4 B wing lists are tough to take.
In the current game set up, I prefer Hull over Stealth and I swap Vader for Whisper with VI and ACD.
That will all change soon with the new Autothrusters and X1 cards for Vader.
For now though, if you know how to fly really well your list is solid.
Don't be afraid NOT to use PtL on Fel in turns where you will pick up stress from other sources.
The K-turns, especially late game when arc dodging can be achieved by using them, make him very powerful.
Edited by EnglishpeteTwo ships will drop fast then Vader will limp around for a bit.
It can work! I've seen 3 Interceptor lists make the top cut in plenty of local tournaments. Having confidence and a good plan for each match will go a long way!
I have been jonesing to try this:
Vader + Procket + EU
Turd + VI + Hull
Fell + Opportunist + Hull
Sure Fell doesnt dance around as much but he can throw 5 dice at RB1 and get the stress to activate his ability.

Turrets are definitely a liability in terms of matchups, and even with Proton Rockets, Vader is largely dead offensive weight (that is, for 36 points he doesn't do enough cumulative damage compared to other options at that price point).
I'd echo the chorus: wait for Autothrusters to round out the defenses in a small, fragile list. At that point you can run something like Shadow Squadron in place of Vader, or wait for the Raider release and run him with Advanced Targeting Computer to round out your offense.
It'll be a pain in the ass for tie swarms to land a hit on four dice
Everything else, especially the glut of god **** turrets, is going to have their way with that list

Now that said the right comment might be What part of SC are you. If Swedge is in sumpter and I'm in Spartanburg...

If you can't strip a token off the target, Fel just ends up as a PS9 Alpha Squadron pilot.
As someone who still frequently fields Interceptors in tournaments... wait for Autothrusters.
LGS had a tourny couple weekends ago that let us proxy the previewed stuff, and Autothrusters on Interceptors agitate the heck out of turret ships. It's pretty great and Autothrusters literally boosts Arc dodgers' 2 biggest weaknesses: getting range 3 sniped with terrible rolls and turrets.
As for the Advanced, I ran two Storms with the new Adv Target comp, and with those fixes the Advanced becomes a really solid ship but...
You're about 1.5 waves early with this list.
This is very true.
But I'm with you, they do look really cool on the board! ![]()
Sorry, SC was my sithy (see what I did there?) shorthand for Store Championships. I'm actually out in Hawaii currently, but I'm goin back to Cali...to Cali...to Cali, the first of next month so I'm hoping to get a couple of shots at Store Championships this season.
As for Vader, look I am aware that he's a bit under-powered until the Raider release, but once that happens I am hoping to run a 4 X1 squad. That being the case, I am looking to get some more flight time with the ship. Besides, if it comes down to Vader at the end of the match, at least I wont get swept....right?...guys?...anybody?....Beuler?
Would Clusters be better than Prockets?
Edited by WarTurtleDecimators are dominating the Store Championship meta right now - wait until Autothrusters and Tie X/1 are out before playing this sort of list :-)

In fairness they are the most expensive, not the most used or effective according to that chart ;-)

I think the argument goes like this: since about 30% of all points right now are being spent on Decimators, Falcons, and Outriders, your odds of coming up against a hard counter to your Vader/Fel/Phennir list in a Store Championship are pretty high.

Oh boy, most likely
My local scene had a nice turn out of 13 players last Sunday. Four of them, myself included, turned up without any turrets. Those are the exact numbers (I counted!)
Out of those, I believe we had two Whisper + Chiraneau, one Dash + Fringer, one Chewie + Vrill, one Chiraneau + mini-swarm, one Dash + 3 talas, one Chewie + Corran, one fat han + 3 talas, one more falcon + yt-2400 that I don't remember, and one Han + two rookies.
Wave 5 is the most stagnant and predictable meta I have ever seen in X-wing. Be ready for turrets.
Well...****.
