Store Championships List

By coolfishboy, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have started looking at store champtionships lists, I normally fly rebels but have flown the Decimator a few times, I am also very interested in the defender, so how about this list as a idea?

-Rexler Brath — TIE Defender Veteran Instincts Heavy Laser Cannon

-Rear Admiral Chiraneau — VT-49 Decimator Veteran Instincts Rebel Captive Ysanne Isard

99 points, so has 1 point spare

The second list idea is

-Commander Kenkirk — VT-49 Decimator Veteran Instincts Rebel Captive Ysanne Isard

-Rexler Brath — TIE Defender Outmaneuver Heavy Laser Cannon

Again 99 points

Thoughts please :)

I've ran a Vessery + Kenkirk combo before and its a decent list. It did suffer from Phantoms and fighting anything with more than 3 ships.

I think your first list is the better of the two as it will beat Phantoms in PS. Your biggest challenge will be pointing Brath at the Phantom. Chiraneau shouldn't have a problem.

For the second list, I would drop VI on Kenkirk and throw Lone Wolf on him. Really VI only pushes him up to PS 8, which isn't going to beat PS 9 Whisper or even Echo (they'll likely have an initiative bid at 98 or 97). I don't find Outmaneuver that great on Defenders (or really anything) as they don't arc-dodge all that well. I think Predator will be more beneficial on Brath. It will allow you to get some dice modification in the hopes you can save your focus to flip some Crits.

Like I mentioned earlier, a Defender + Decimator combo will have a hard time against any list bringing more guns to the fight. The Defender can't arc-dodge and maneuver like a Phantom, so its hard to keep it out of the sights of the enemy squad. Its a decent anti- dash list, but other than that it struggles.
