Two Corran options

By TasteTheRainbow, in X-Wing

I'm going to a Store Championship on 1/31 and I've got two list options that I'm considering. I always run Corran so that part is set in stone.

Option 1.) Corran with VI, Advanced Sensors, r2-d2 and engine: Dash with Lone Wolf, Recon Specialist, HLC and title.

Option 2.) Corran with VI, Advanced Sensors and R2-D2: 2 blue squadrons and a tala.

I'm leaning towards option 1. I'm taking VI instead of ptl because I need something ps9+ because Soontir and Whisper are a thing. Anyone have any other list ideas that are competitive in the current meta? I have taken both of these lists to tourneys and haven't ever lost, but I assume Store championships might bring out some better lists and players.

I think if you're taking vi you should drop AS for FCS it'll give corran some teeth on his 2nd shot.

I agree with the Barabel. I've been running Corran w/ VI, FCS, EU, and R2D2 to great success. Having the constant TL means that you can use your action to boost (or BR) into R1 (and at PS10, so after most other ships have moved) to make good use of the double tap.. And both your shots are still deadly. As for the rest of the load out, VI is neccessary for the reasons you already gave, R2D2 keeps him in the game quite a bit longer, and EU opens up so many options for maneuvers, including running away when you're Regening shields post double tap.

I almost always run FCS. I've tried it in the build but have found that AS keeps him alive against certain problem targets. Getting into Dash's donut is a breeze with this build. It also gives you the ability to K-turn without just relying on rolling evades. In the 4-ship build AS is the only thing keeping him alive if you lose the other three ships and have an uphill battle.

I hate not having FCS, but I hate losing more. I might give FCS a try again against some popular lists.
