Airen Cracken Free Action Question

By kingofpain97, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I was just curious with Airen Cracken's free action at range 1 if this would be possible. Let's say my build was:

Airen Cracken

Kyle Katarn + Recon Specialist + Moldy Crow

If I was within range 1 and had already performed a focus with Kyle Katarn the previous round to receive an extra focus token due to recon specialist, would I be able to focus again with Kyle Katarn after Airen Cracken performed his attack to get a total of 4 focus tokens on Kyle per round? I wasn't sure if it would allow me to do the same action or not as I have never ran a setup with Airen Cracken.

You can only perform a given action once each round. No matter where the ability to perform the action might be coming from, if you have already taken that action this round, you can't take it again.

I can't quite follow some of your question though. This bit "...already performed a focus with Kyle Katarn the previous round..." If Kyle used the focus action the previous round and just has a pile of tokens that is one thing, but if he is focusing earlier in THAT round for 2 tokens then he can't focus again in the same round.

I think he meant previous phase. It sometimes takes some getting used to, phases, rounds, turns. :P.

Sorry, I did mean phase - still learning the lingo!

No problem, that's kinda what I thought but I wanted to make sure.

For some reason a lot of new players get confused by the difference between performing an action and spending a token. I wanted to make sure that wasn't the case here.
