Hey guys,

The FAQ for the Chewbacca crew reads:

CHEWBACCA

If a ship equipped with Chewbacca suffers a critical damage, the player may look at that card before choosing whether to use Chewbacca’s ability to discard it.

If a ship equipped with Chewbacca is about to suffer its last damage before it would be destroyed, Chewbacca may be used to prevent that one damage and recover a shield.

Leebo's pilot ability allows you to draw two cards when you suffer a Critical and choose which one to resolve. Since Chewbacca allows you to look at the Critical damage card before deciding whether to trigger or not, would Leebo and Chewie combined allow you to draw two Critical damage cards, then decide whether to trigger Chewbacca? And if you do not trigger Chewbacca, could you then discard one with Leebo, and discard the other if it is a Pilot crit with Determination?

I hope the question makes sense. It seems pretty straight forward to me, but I want to clarify. I have been debating whether or not to put Chewbacca on Leebo's ship, obviously. Thanks for your help!

Leebo + Determination + Crewbacca =

• When you're dealt a crit, draw two cards instead.

1. If one is a Pilot-crit, choose it and discard it.
2. If neither is a Pilot-crit, discard Chewbacca to negate it and regenerate a shield.

It's some hilarious s*** to pull if an opponent is rocking multiple Manglers.

If you try and use Chewbacca first, you're not fulfilling Leebo's requirements so Leebo would have to be used first (there's no "may" option in his card text). Take the dealt card and the additional, then Leebo chooses and discards one. If you've got Determination, then keep any Pilot card, as Determination will discard that. If you're still left with a card, then you can use Chewie on it if you want.

Based on Chewbacca's text, I wasn't sure which needed to happen first. This text reads "immediately," like so:

When you are dealt a Damage card, you may immediately discard that card and recover 1 shield.

Then, discard this Upgrade card.

So am I permitted to have Leebo discard the first, and Chewbacca cancel the second?

Very much so. Leebo is used to establish which card is the one being "dealt" and then Chewie can discard that one. But like I said, if you add Determination to the mix, which triggers at the same time also, you could use that and save Chewie for later.
