I'm considering entering a tournament for the first time and was thinking this setup would work well. I like the idea of having the interceptors able to hide behind Kenkirk if they become the focus of attacks. Comments and suggestions welcome.

I like the idea, but I'll probably wait for autothrusters and run a doom decimator with the tactical jammer to try it out.

The problem with this idea is that the royal guards fly too fast to keep them behind the decimator. They want to have lots of space in front of them for better positioning possibilities. All it takes is one or two blockers on your opponent's part to create a traffic jam with your decimator, and then the RG's will crash into its back and without actions, they are toast. So for that reason, I don't think this idea will work, to be honest.

I also feel that a decimator should always have engine upgrade (unless running the Experimental Interface + Expose build). With zero green dice to start with (and even with the +1 agility from Kenkirk's ability), the decimator dies too easily to concentrated fire, such as can be leveraged by enemy swarm lists. Engine upgrade makes it so much more difficult for those types of lists to chew through your decimator quickly. Of course, that might just be my playstyle preference...
