The art of Bullying someone...

Hmmm...

How to make a campaign with the sessions based off of this thread? Episodes like:

Sad Panda and the Power of Ignore

Everyone Is a Guy (Except Those That Aren't)

Bond's Guns

Moose Knuckle and the Brootherhood of the Shaven Sacks

The Legend of ErikB, the Last Wookieebender

Help Billy Dee. We're His Only Hope

The frustration of Desslok's indecision is evident on his portrait.

You could be that one guy at every autograph signing who just drops trou.

And we're back to the shaved nads?

I would say Jewel of Yavin. A 40 ain't forever.

For money? I bet that 40 signed by Billy Dee will be worth substantially more on Ebay in 20 years then that Jewel of Yavin signed by Lando.

To show to your friends? If you could care less about the value (I'm assuming so), nearly everyone will understand the coolness of the Billy Dee 40 on the shelf. The book will need an in depth explanation to most who will offfer a head tilt and wrinkled forehead versus a chuckle and a "cool" for the 40.

Just for you? If you are never going to auction it off or show it to your friends, then only you can answer this one. I would note that the 40 is still timely decades later.

Well, I'm off to see the Lando! Full report when I get back!

I wound up splitting the difference. I got him to sign my book and I got a picture of me him and sharing a glass of the Colt 45. (Picture forthcoming, since I shoot film and I'll need to get the roll developed here in a week or so). The line busted up laughing when I pulled out the bottle, however.

As for meeting the man? I have been to three celeberty signings/meetings at Scarecrow: Lloyd Kaufman from Troma Pictures, Sam Jones (AKA, Flash "Ahhh-ahhhhh!" Gordon) and now Lando. Of the three, this was the least personable. I dont know if it was the handler Shark-In-Human-Form that was projecting an air of 'skeeze' or that perhaps Billy was soused to the gills (Allegedly, at least - I dont know for sure) or that the years have not been kind to the man - but he seemed very out of it.

Sam, he hung out for a bit talking with the fans and Lloyd was cool as f*ck - but Billy? He was disappointing. Ah well. . . . .

He's upset because he's still making payments on Bespin. Imperial seizures weren't covered by his insurance.

either way, its still cool you got this. thanks.for.sharing:)

That's a shame about Billy. I'm not surprised Sam Jones and Lloyd Kaufman were good ones for meeting at signings. Anything I've seen of Lloyd in interviews and such, he seems like the kind of guy you could lose a day talking with, and never be bored.

I'm late to the party. I've been avoiding this thread. Sad, now that I've read all 11 pages!

I must confess, I really am an A-Wing. Don't let the rambunctious octopus mental image my screen name evokes throw you off.

My only "celebrity" meetings are comic book creators at cons. Most of them are pretty awesome and down to earth, which is surprising at first. I've had good conversations with some, and been starstruck by others.

Stan Lee, last year, was probably the most underwhelming. Granted he is in his 90s now, but his people were so over protective and wanting to keep things moving, it felt like he was being forced into slave labor to sign an endless amount of merchandise, as opposed to genuinely wanting to be there.

I've also had a few run ins with professional athletes. Brian Urlacher of the Chicago Bears used to shop at a store I worked at. In 2005 I was in downtown Chicago when the Boston Red Sox were in town to play the Chicago White Sox in the American League Divisional Series playoffs. I saw Matt Clement, who pitched for the Chicago Cubs during their storied 2003 playoff run, in a restaurant off of Michigan Avenue. He had just pitched for the Red Sox the day before (or possibly that day) and got beat.

Of the comic and nerd related cons I have been to, there have been very few entertainment celebrities I was interested in seeing. It doesn't help that most of them charge for an autograph. I understand it, but so many other things to see and do at a con than pay $50+ to wait in a line for a supporting sci-fi actor to sign their own headshot.

so, I just talked to they player. Idon't know if we're going to lose him, but I spoke to him. figured we've started a new campaign, and im the GM, so I now can.

Since it's a shame to let such an awesome thread fall to page five (What is wrong with you people!) here, did you see these:

Doctor Who Lego Sets are a thing that's happening!

Sorry, I posted. That is usually enough to kill a thread.

These pictures do not belong on this thread....EX-TER-MIN-ATE!

No seriously, that's awesome. I will have to get these and put them next to my NIB limited edition 30th anniversary Lego Ghostbusters Ecto-1.

I am sure I will catch flak for this, but I never got into Dr Who. I don't get the hype.

Me neither. To me, it's always looked like it was filmed by someone's high school A/V club.

Hey, that's fine to not like Doctor Who. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how wrong it may be!

I was never a big fan either until recently when I went on a Netflix binger. I used to watch the 1963-version of the show all the time as a kid on PBS during the 80's right there with re-runs of H.R. Pufnstuf and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. We only had the antennae and 3 channels.

I think you may have used the wrong bad guy. Shouldn't we have gone all Cyberman and gone DELETE, DELETE, DELETE?

Doctor Who? Think I heard something about that back in the 70s.

I've never seen it either. I don't really want to. the premise doesn't sound that good to me.

Now now, clearly not liking Dr Who can't be that wrong, if we're all liking Star Wars. ;)

Well, depends - what do you think the premise is?

person who travels through time and space in a phone booth called the tardis with companions and saved the world and galaxy from evil. he regenerates occasionally when they get a new actor.
