The art of Bullying someone...

By Gryphynx, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So, I'm glad you're all still going strong. This is impressive, considering the OP haven't replied even once. While not trying to re-rail it  he does have a point, regardless of his own actions. I've never really considered internet forums a friendly and social place (not to say they lack the potential for friendliness and so on, nor that I haven't met friendliness and stuff, just that I wouldn't expect it or hold much hope). Anyway. Enough about that.

Sorry if this post, recent ones, or ones in the next day or so are erratic. I'm trying to cut back on my one vice (coffee) and I'm going through withdrawals.

Repeat after me:

Coffee is not a vice. It is the lifeblood of the tech world.

Coffee is not a vice. It is liquid and does not make a good tool for clamping things into place so that they can be worked on with other tools.

Coffee is not a vice. It is black gold, and the second most traded and important commodity in the world.

AHHH TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFF!!!!

So now we know what Vader was torturing Han with on Cloud City! He was showing him this picture! :P :D  :)

I'm just messing around with you Josep! Nice pic. I should put one up here to, but no one wants to look at my ugly mug. I do enjoy seeing the community though. It is always interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Desslok, I appreciate the shout out. I'm actually moving at the end of February to Kissimmee, FL for career and family. I'll miss the Pacific Northwest, but hopefully I can find some gamers down near Orlando.

Boo! If everyone leaves the Pacific Northwest then nobody will be left to play Star Wars with. Even if it is terribly rainy and foggy and depressing 10 months out of the year.

Well I am buying land up there...in the near future...have to wait for lawyer BS. but assuming smooth going. I will have land up in the Vancouver Washington area...

Ah - close enough to the Oregon border to buy tax free goods, but living on the income tax free side of the river. Smart.

Plus, you know, legal weed.

Every now and then I like to check in and verify this thread is so derailed the NTSB should be called in.

Carry on, citizens.

:D

Further to one of my previous posts, and just to keep you informed, I'm having my vasectomy next Friday. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well, to keep up with the spirit of things here on this thread lately, pictures?

:D :o

Sorry, my clinic doesn't have the means to take aerial photographs :)

Most off topic thread ever? i have watched from a distance for a while and its never been this far away from SW!

Yet at the same time its ended up showing the general friendliness of this particular forum.

Seeing as the thread is totally off the rails and it is St. Valentine's Day, I have a boyfriend!. 4 months and 3 weeks... not that I'm counting. In some older thread, I laughed at the idea I'd ever date one of the guys in my EotE group but I'm here to say the crow tastes absolutely delicious. :)

Well I hope you and your boyfriend have a great Valintines Day!! And many more great days and holidays to follow.

Eating crow is all about finding the right drink to wash it down.

;)

As long as he treats you well...be unfortunate if something were to happen to his legs...

If I remember correctly, she has some rather protective brothers that also play in the group. I'm pretty sure the young man knows what he's up against. That being said it never hurts to have too many friends to look out for you.

One brother and he's definitely protective (TOO protective) but my bf has been his friend for a few years and even my brother approves. My dad does, too, but this whole, "No boyfriends until you're 16!" thing came aong faster than he was expecting.

My dad is a surgeon and he did the obligatory thing where he had to scare my boyfriend by having antique surgical tools handy while they talked and he mentioned how difficult it was to find healthy organ donors. lol

I've told my wife that when my daughter's first boyfriend visits, I'm going to do something similar based upon my career, when we are having the curfew/boundaries speech. I keep embelishing this story.

I plan on being in my office with (coincidentally) all of my firearms lying out cleaning them. I will remark, "I clean them all of the time, they are like my children". My SWAT gear (armor, helmet) will be nearby in the corner. I then will ask the poor boy which child of mine means oh so much more to me then these, "children". The obvious answer wil be, "my actual daughter".

I'm still not sure if my jokes will become reality. My daughter isn't a teenager yet. I may just have to save this for the boys I don't like? My wife will probably object if I actually start to go through with this.

Sturn, the idea that you sit at a desk to clean and oil your children all the time is really kinda disturbing.

My first girlfriends dad told me he loved Knives, rapiers and Broadswords... Then showed me his large collection, I think my reaction of excitement was not what he expected! Turns out he loved The Lord of the Rings books, and read them every year!

All of these stories of instilling healthy fear in a daughter's love interests remind me of when I just casually asked my stepdaughter's man-thing-of-the-week if he was allergic to penicillin.

Somehow we got back to bullying...

That's not bullying. That's due diligence on a father's part.

Here's my personal tidbit, I am.

I take it this is a US thing? Never heard of anyone doing that in the UK, and never had it happen to me, despite being a few people's first boyfriend.
