Kenkirk with 4 APs

By SDCC, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi there guys,

Last night I played 2 games against my brother with the following...

Kenkirk with Tactician, Isard and Determination + 4 x AP TIEs

He ran Turr, Fel and Whisper.

I sent the Decimator straight in as I knew that damage would grant him 1 green and an evade. Then the TIEs got stuck in from the side and did a mixture of dividing his focus and blocking. Worked well as I only lost two TIEs.

Tactician made life tricky for him as he either had to be R1 or R3, both of which helped me.

It worked, but is there anything you'd change?

I'm curious how people think this build cope in general as I'm considering taking it to the store champs.

I might change out the Tactician as he only works in the primary arc and on a turreted ship that's hard to turn around he might sit useless for a while. Especially with arc-dodgers.

You know what, that means I was using it incorrectly last night.

But, it was only used twice so didn't change things much.

So, I could take off Determination and Tactician, and replace them with Rebel Captive? But with 3 points Mara Jade or Weapons Engineer sound pretty nifty too.....

Or keep Determination, put on Intelligence Agent and Dauntless and park straight on top, or in front, of your main enemy. Kenkirk attacks the escorts, your escorts attack the main enemy.

How exactly does Intelligence Agent work? You've set your dial already so you can't change yours. You just know what they're going to do?

It is primarily used to let your low PS TIEs barrel roll in front of enemies (block), or out of dangerous positions/into better ones.

So though you can't change movement it will inform your actions.

Well you could if you also add Navigator.

You'd have to drop an AP though and that would drastically change your list.

The freed up points could go towards a Howlrunner or some BSP's with Draw their Fire, which might be beneficial, but that is of course wholly up to you.

Ah, I don't have a Falcon, so no DTF for me.

I must say I like 4 APs. They seem to last longer than they have any right too and annoy people!

100 points

Commander Kenkirk [intelligence Agent, Ysanne Isard, Rebel Captive] (52)

Academy Pilot (12) x 4

Use IA to judge what the TIEs will do. Isard comes in with Kenkirk to give him more chance of surviving and RC stresses out a high PS Phantom or Wedge, or whoever else tries first.

Since you're using Kenkirk, wouldn't that one point be better spent on Determination, instead of Int. Agent?

I did have determination on there, but Intelligence Agent sounds rather handy for my TIEs.
