Navigator

By Cupid Stunt, in X-Wing

Hi

Sorry if this has already been covered, and it may seem like a stupid question - but how does Navigator work exactly?

I'm a bit confused about what '...on the same bearing' means.

Thanks in advance.

Manoeuvres have three elements: speed, difficulty, and bearing. The speed is the number, the difficulty is the colour, and the bearing is the arrow. Navigator lets you rotate the dial to any other manoeuvre which has the same little arrow picture, but a different number (and possibly colour). Note that the direction does matter, so you can't for example change a hard left turn to a hard right turn.

This article on the Metal Bikini should help:

http://www.themetalbikini.com/2013/10/crew-members-navigator.html

Bearings are:

Stationary

Straight

Left turn

Left Bank

Left S-Loop (I guess)

K-Turn

Right S-loop (I guess)

Right bank

Right turn

Navigator lets you change the speed of your maneuver. A 3 left bank becomes a 1 left bank for instance.

Boba Fett with Navigator (Fettigator), when revealing a bank maneuver is allowed to change to any of the six banks on his dial.

Stay on Target allows you to change the speed and maneuver, but it will be treated as a red maneuver, no matter what you Navigate to.

It is important to note that K-Turn and Stationary are separate bearings from straights.

So basically, I can change to any speed bank or turn in the same direction but can't switch between the two or change direction?

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated :)

You could also change the speed of your straights.

A YT-1300, Phantom or Firespray could also change the speed of its K-Turn

Are you ready to have your mind blown?

It can be explained as simple as (it was to me originally) this:

Navigator allows you to change the speed of the maneuver, and nothing else - unless you're Boba.
