Here's a situation that came up:
Han is firing on Whisper w/ V.I. (both are at PS 9)
Han has initiative and shoots first.
The result is several damage and crit card being dealt out, including Injured Pilot.
The question that comes up, does Whisper get to fire (not facing Han, but has another valid target) or not?
Injured Pilot: All players must ignore your pilot ability and all of your <EPT> Upgrade cards.
By ignoring VI, Whisper now falls back to PS 7, and having sustained more damage cards than Hull, is destroyed. Or does Whisper still get the simultaneous fire rule, with Injured Pilot kicking in after her shot?
From the FAQ:
When the Simultaneous Attack Rule keeps a ship in play until it performs its attack, are all effects pertaining to that ship still in play?Yes. Effects from the ship’s pilot ability, Upgrade cards, Damage cards, etc. are still active and may affect the game until it performs an attack, at which point it is immediately removed.
If a ship suffers more damage or critical damage than is needed to destroy it, are the excess Damage cards still assigned to that ship?Yes. This means that a ship in the play area due to the Simultaneous Attack Rule may be affected by additional faceup Damage cards.
Our understanding was that, all the Crits take effect (similar to receiving Blinded Pilot), so losing VI dropped it out of the PS 9 shooting, resulting in being destroyed before getting to fire.
