Please help me build a fleet for my newbie friend

My friend, who's relatively new to X-Wing, wants me to help him build a 100 point Rebel fleet with the following criteria:

* He doesn't want too many special abilities or upgrade cards. He wants to keep them at a minimum. To the extent there are special abilities, he prefers more straightforward ones (e.g. Howlrunner, etc.) than more complex ones (e.g. Rexler Brath, Etahn A Baht).

* He likes swarms. Prefers to have at least 3 ships in the build.

* He prefers high agility ships with an agility of at least 2, if not 3.

* Max/min isn't too important. Neither is fluff. Simplicity of play is probably the most important.

I have at least one copy of all regular-sized (non-Epic ships), with multiples of most of the commonly used ones (Z-95, X-Wing, etc, and would appreciate your help in building a 100 point fleet. I was thinking of using Wes Jenson or Tarn Mison in the build because I just got a Rebel Transport and we want to try out the X-Wing from that set.

Sure the chances Biggs burst into flames is quite high but it is just a matter of making the Z-95s more tempting targets. Like keeping them outside the Biggs bubble

Not sure it would qualify because of the fully kit Keyan, but here is a team I wanted to try for a while:

The A-Wing is your mini swarm and all with agility 3, so that's 2 of your criteria. Keyan, while fully equiped is quite simple to use in this case and Jan crew help survivability even though he only has 1 agility. PtL to focus changed into an evade, and either barrel roll or target lock, use stress as focus. if you plan to do a red maneuver or collide, do your action before moving. The Flechette is only there because there was 2 points left and could give a stress at the right moment. Alternatively, if Keyan has too many upgrades, drop the flechette, AdvSensor and Jan for a Heavy Laser Cannon.

If he is adamant about having high agility ship, switch Keyan for Etahn.

With all your 1 and 2 maneuver and straight 3 greens, PtL before moving with Advanced Sensor and clear the stress by revealing a green maneuver. 5 ship all with agility 3 that can give a lot of crits.

Hobbie gives a lot of stress with the help of the droid and Torpedoes and Tarn is surprisingly resiliant with R7. Still 5 ships.

Give him a tie swarm of as many named pilots as you can fit.

This looks like something he might enjoy, but the upgrade cards are still a bit complicated. Any way I could simplify this?

Take the upgrades off Biggs and Wes, add 3 missiles to the bandits..

Ok, here's something that's not quite finished (3 points left) but meets all of your point.

Dash + HLC + Outrider + EU

Tycho + Refit + Test Pilot + PtL + Daredevil (or Expert Handling for a point less)

Maybe it seems like too many upgrade cards but most are there for agility and all are pretty simple.

Dash simplifies movement as he doesn't need to worry about asteroids and BR/Boost let him get off rocks he may land on; the HLC/Outrider combo makes shooting easier while still staying powerful and straightforward.

Tycho is just super maneuverable here can be taking two actions each round with PtL and small consequences.

Prototype Pilot is just there to fill out the list.

I guess the other "simple" model would be one of the A-Wing swarms. The killer parts are "Rebel" with "highly maneuverable = 3 agility prefered" although "swarm" doesn't help although 3 ships is not a swarm.

Not particularly powerful but does have almost no special abilities and will allow him to fly a Rebel swarm.
