Giving the HWK some love

Was thinking of experimenting with my new shiney ship, the YT 1300!

Han Solo:

Milenium Falcon

VI

Homing Missiles

Chewie

Lando

EI

Kyle Katarn:

Moldy Crow

Recon sp

Blaster Turret

VI

Sheild Upgrade

= 99 Pts

Basically Kyle will support Han by feeding him focus, one of the free ones per turn thanks to recon and Kyle keeps one from recon until he can start attacking. Han will be getting a focus (from Kyle) and do an evade (action) then use Lando to maybe get more, giving him quite alot of survivability per turn. Not sure about Homing Missiles but had a spare bunch of points...

Any thoughts? Was going to test it out on Tuesday.

Drop chewie for jan, extra evades!

Also drop Shield Upgrade for Engine Upgrade. Makes the HWK much more maneuverable.

Jan for giving the HWK some evading? sounds good, if he has some focus stocked up already, thanks!

If the HWK gets engine upgrade, Id need to have focus stocked for Kyles ability. I was planning on moving very slowly to start with so Kyle gets lots of focus banked.

Well, Jan on the Falcon will give either the HWK an evade or the Falcon.

Kyle focuses, gets two focus tokens.

Han uses Lando as an action, depending on what he gets Jan can turn one focus result into an evade or wait for Kyle to toss one over and turn that into an evade.

Don't forget that Jan can target the ship she's on.

lose homing missles they a waste of good points

if you lose the homing missles might be able to upgrade kyle to jan ors? which would mean switching around the crews...just a thought

Does Jan crew really give the ship she is on a evade over a focus, the card's wording doesn't make that clear...

'Once per round, when a friendly ship at range 1-3 performs a focus action or would be assigned a focus token, you may assign an evade token instead.'

Does the ship she is on count as a friendly ship? I would say not? Am I wrong?

The FAQ states that a ship is at range 1 of itself. If she couldn't target the ship she's on, it would have said "another friendly ship".

How about this:

Han Solo w/ Falcon Title, Chewie, Gunner, Marksmanship & Experimental Interface (62)

Jan Ors w/ Blaster Turret, Kyle, Decoy & Engine Up. (38)

Jan gives Han quite a punch with that extra attack die, and combine that with Gunner + Marksmanship + Han's ability, and he will kill anything quick (even cloaked phantoms). It allows you to fly the falcon pretty aggressively while keeping Jan back away from the enemy (but within range 3 of Han) at least until Han has taken a couple ships out and then she can get in there with less worry of being killed.

Decoy is on Jan to help deal with annoying Rebel Captive builds that would otherwise screw Han over.
