Will we get as many tie advanced pilots as we did x wing pilots in the transport?

By bmwrider, in X-Wing

Juno has some cool history in the story line.

I would love to see if there will be cool enough pilots to make buying that big ship worth it?

I cannot see enjoying play with such a big hard to flyship.

Huge ships are crazy fun. You wouldn't expect it, but they are.

If you play with the corvette or raider, the game is going to take longer, regardless of whether it it because the huge ships are harder to kill or because of the increased points.

Not necessarily true. They eat up so many points that that's at least three small ships that aren't on the field. Cancels out somewhat.

Real talk, what's the difference between this new paint scheme and the old one?

I believe it's blue like the bomber rather than the current light grey.
I think the different coloured models are a bit silly. I always imagined the difference between the colour of the TIEs in the films was just meant to be a filming/lighting difference, not a different in-universe pain scheme. I might grey-up my new one, or blue-up my old ones. Maybe I should do the latter and also blue-up all my Fighters to get them to all match...

Sheeve Palpentine needed a favor from a paint manufacturer. And so every Tie in the fleet got a new paint job.

Palpentine got a brand new Temple.

Personally I like the different paint schemes.. The grey is nice for TIE fighters, and I have always liked the blueish color on the squints and bombers.

That said, I do appreciate the gray repaints some people have done, I even did a blue gray repaint on an advanced for grins.

I'm wondering what other colors the Imperial ships would look good in, I have seen some white repaints that looked good, that were shaded well and just overall a good job no them.

Considering my applied text scale is slightly off, it's less blurred, and not partially obscured by the insert plug...

I think it's about as "same" as we're going to get. The empty space on the preview base matches up REALLY well with the rotated characters, though I should note that the text is pilot-card spacing, not ship-insert, which should account for some of the discrepancies.

I saw a pic once of some assorted TIE variants in a nice deep purple that looked amazing.

Probably the same amount as the X-wing pilots that came in the Rebel Transport but not as many as the X-wing.

Remember X-wing pilots come from the Core, the X-wing expansion pack and the Rebel Transport. There were no Tie Advanced pilots in the Core set.

The tie fighters were supposedly intended to be purple but they had to change them due to backdrop colors so purple ties would be cool.

I had heard that they were originally supposed to be blue-grey, but that interfered with the blue screening process. For empire and Jedi though the tech had matured and they were able to do the color they wanted and that's why we have 2 different colors of TIE ships.

There are quite a few sites with these kind of tie fighter pictures from the movie camera testing with each color.

I just assumed it was an operational change, like PZIVs changing from panzergrau (armour grey) to dunkelgelb (dark yellow) in '43.

Or maybe how each batch of dunkelgelb was different.

I really want to know which other pilots there will be.
