BTL-A4 Y wing title and auto blaster turret question.

By Wayne Argabright, in X-Wing Rules Questions

You cannot attack ships outside your firing arc. After you perform a primary weapon attack, you may immediately perform an attack with a secondary weapon.

The way i read it is the TWO attacks are separate. meaning if i use a target lock it has to be used for the primary weapon OR secondary weapon provided i have a focus to use the secondary weapon in the first place?

my second question is: auto blaster related:

Attack 1 ship (even a ship outside your firing arc). Your "hit"results cannot be cancelled by defense dice. The defender may cancel "critical" results before "Hit" results

I am stumped on "hit" results cannot be cancelled by defense dice and the "defender MAY cancel "crits" before "Hits"? seems like its contradicting itself?

It is worded like that because the rulebook specifically states that "all <hit> results must be cancelled before any <crit> results may be cancelled".

If the Autoblaster would just have said "<hit> results cannot be cancelled by defense dice", you wouldn't have been able to cancel <crit> results either (unless rolling crits and blanks only).

And the two attacks are separate. Your target lock is only available for one of those (marksmanship would function for both effects though, available through R2-D6 or a Scum pilot with an EPT).

The autoblaster turret does not require a focus to use, that's the Blaster turret you're thinking of.

thanks..
