What is your most successful list?

By Rogue Dakotan, in X-Wing Squad Lists

What list has just done really well for you in tournaments or otherwise? Won multiple games, steamrolled your opponent, etc.

Also would that list hold up in the current state of the meta or is it a relic of its time?

Expose Chippy with Interface, Isard and Reb captive paired with Whisper eats anything that isn't a control list alive, maybe not the best tourney list as it almost guaranteed gives your opponent 60pts but it wins games.

Similar to HOBO's list:

Captain Oicunn

Mara Jade

Rebel Captive

Dauntless

Anti-Pursuit Lasers

Soontir Fel

Push The Limit

Stealth Device

Black Squadron Pilot

Draw Their Fire

I had a lot of success with this at my last tourney, flying the TIE next to Oicunn to draw a few shots/crits off of Oicunn while he rushed the enemy formation, and Soontir was able to pop around to perform similarly to whisper. Ended up winning the tourney with this, and second game I almost lost to an AXE rebel list due to poor flying on soontir's part, but if flown well, it dominates most of the things I've flown against so far.

then again, I'm kind of biased to Big ships.

Krass with HLC, recon

Soontir with PLT

2x Academy

Took 4th out of 17 in my first tourney earlier this year, killed a fat Han 3x tala to get 4th. Send the ties out to block, slow roll krass and let soontir fly around being soontir.

This is the list that I ran that won me the store championship:

Chewbacca + Predator + C-3PO + MF Title

Lando + Predator + Jan Ors + Nien Nunb

Super defensive and attrition-based list. Basically make Chewie super hard to kill, so they go after Lando, but Lando and Chewie are punching back before one of them goes down. And by the time they take one of them out, they've been dealt so much damage or lost so much advantage and they still have to take out Chewie, who is extremely hard to kill. Also, flying defensively and forcing them to play through the asteroids helps win a lot of games, unless its Dash Rendar.

I'm 15 for 15 with this list;

Broark Tactics

Blue with Tactician x2

Gold with R3A2 Ion Cannon Turret

Roark with Ion Cannon Turret and Nien Nunb

If I included my previous incarnations of the list I can add about 10 games and 9 of those were wins.

I'm 6-0 with the following:

Rexler Brath with Predator

Echo with Recon Spec, FCS, ACD, VI

Dark Curse with Shield Upgrade

It should be noted that I have not faced a Fat Han or Super Dash with this list, but I have faced a Chewie Falcon list and won. Also, I have not played in a tournament with this list. Thinking about taking this to the Store Championship Tournament at Games Goblin in Little Rock, AR in February.

Back last year...

Krassix + HLC + RecSpec
Jonus + Determination

Howlrunner + Swarm

I forget what the other little upgrades were.

I had a Krassis Jonus Dark Curse list that did pretty good for me back last year as well.

Super good if your 42 point Corran gets taken out in 2 shots... *hint* *hint*

Boba Fett + VI, HLC, Gunner, Engine

Whisper + VI, Sensor Jammer, Rebel Captive, ACD

Hundred points of oomph. Both ships huge threats, both very slippery. Boba pretty much chews through Phantoms and Dash alone, while Whisper whittles down swarms. Sensor Jammer and Rebcap is for defense against Han, to keep his attack output low and maneuvers predictable.

Echo with VI, ACD, rec spec and sensor jammer

Howlrunner with determination and a hull upgrade

APx3

I've won both store tournaments I've taken it to and don't think I've lost a match with it so far (at least 12).

If there's a big threat to Echo on the table (Soontir, Han, Chirpy, etc.) then the mini-swarm goes for that first while Echo does her zig-zag maneuvers to stay at range 3, otherwise the list is fairly straightforward as long as you're good at judging Echo's decloak + movement. I find that it's invaluable to have at least two viable decloak options compatible with your selected maneuver in case of blocking (or unexpected maneuvers on your opponent's side) so that you can get out of any situation.

I've had a lot of luck with my rebel swarm. I'm 15-3 with it. Three of those matches I tabled my opponents.

Blue Squad B x4

Bandit Squad Z-95

I run the B's slow and up one side. I run the Z up the opposite side and have it run as fast as it can to "flank", aka, be an annoying pest. In my experience my opponents have either gone after it and broken formation, or let it do it's job and plink away from the side or back.

The B's....well....that's 32 points to get through and 12 - 16 attack if they all get a shot. If my opponent decides to joust with me...all the better.

I've had a lot of fun flying this list either way.

Undefeated with the standard Chirpy: Gunner, RC, Ysanne, Pred, Engine + Soontir Build, Undefeated with SuperDash + Corran, but I have far and away the most wins with Triple Interceptor - it's got to be around 20-2 at this point.

I rarely seem to get games in so I usually play a different list each time I play. The list I have been most successful with was:

4-0 in exhibition matches before the time of autothrusters.

Soontir Fel + PTL + Hull (would drop hull for AT now).

Delta Squadron Pilot

Academy Pilot x3

99 Points

The meta is an interesting beast...always changing. Probably do alright if I put in AT over hull.

Before PS 9 was the thing:

Turr's Hunting Party

Turr + PTL + Hull

BH + recon + Seismic

Backstabber

Nightbeast

Most come from behind victories... probably my best winning percentage. Played the same with Fell + stealth instead of Seismic.

Doesn't quite hold up and clearly seismic becomes Thrusters now and paired with stealth. Nighbeast is even better too. It's a great show off list for newer players as it has a lot of tactical considerations, lots of tricks, and is pretty reliable. I'd take it to any casual tournament today and still expect a winning record.

Any list with 5+ ships and at least three being generic Bandit/Binayre/Academy pilots. I veer from fatties, but two semi aces (Kavil/Jake) mixed in work well.

Went 19-5 and made top 8 regionals with the following:

Scum Boba

VI

Engine Upgrade

Inertial Dampeners

Scum Kath

HLC

K4 security droid

PTL

Engine Upgrade

Head Trauma:

Airen Cracken: Squad Leader

4x Banits with concussion missiles

1 Bandit with Ion Pulse

I got top 8 in my first ever store championship, and placed 2nd at the Tacoma regionals. Missed out on top 8 at the Vancouver regionals though :(

Before wave 7:

BBBBZ

I have done very well with SuperDash+CorranHorn.
But as for lists I've not picked up on the internet, I have done quite well with this one, some months back:

Boba fett 39 (45)
Inertial dampners 1
Veteran instincts 1
Engine upgrade 4

Prince xzior 31 (34)
Veteran instincts 1
Autothrusters 2

Syndicate thug 18(20)
Autoblaster turret 2
