Ugglies

By kellyj, in X-Wing

So I'm finally getting around to posting some uglies I've put together. Hopefully the new S&V faction will create a generic card for use by any Ugly. Or not...their still fun to cobble together.

My first endeavor is a Y-TIE. Slightly different, with the TIE panels rolled 90 degrees and a section removed to provide increased view for the pilot.

That looks awful... Well done! :P

I say this every time I see someone do this to models.....

wow, so cool, I'm jealous of the unique model you created...

OMG! HOW CAN YOU DESTROY THE ORIGINAL SHIPS! WHYYYYYY I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM A NICE HOME!

Well, as long as you enjoy them and your friends enjoy destroying them.

Beautiful idea. But how did you cut the panels so smoothly?

Did the initial cut with a pair of Fiskars scissors (those things cut true and are VERY sharp). I then used a razor knife blade to shave the cut away area down to the brace section.

I'd love to post more, but for some reason every time I select the "image" button the window comes up, then locks up the page. Also when I try to do a direct paste from Photobucket or other hosting sites (or any URL for that matter), this forum will not allow a URL to be pasted in the page.

cest la vie.

Looks good, but where are the engines?

Im guessing the leftovers will be made into a DIE-wing

That's generally why people don't like this Ugly in particular.

Well, I don't like this one because it truly is ugly. Several others of the "uglies" have grown on me, but the Y-TIE is just hideous. IMO

This particular model though is probably the best implementation of it I have seen. It's really well done and the rotated wings are a big improvement. I like the cut outs too, though they do make me think the engineer had "interceptor envy".

Thanks. I too don't like the usual version...the tall Wings just throw the whole balance out.

Yep, Interceptor Envy.

The Ion Drive is in the back-side of the Y-Wing
