It's FFGs own ship they designed. I think it's safe to say we will see it in their capital ship game. However there are a ton of capital ships they can throw in this game.

Well, the image looks straight from the Raider with that pop-up cannon. I know that it doesn't mean the contract has been signed, but thus far image card sleuthing has been a bit more predictive than reading entrails.

My cat much prefers the entrails, though.

Oh, i'm like 90% sure the Raider is coming, but this card having the same art doesn't do anything to increase my opinion on the odds. I ALREADY assumed it'd come at some point!

Oh, my cat is sweet (but also sometimes a bit of a jerk... you know, a cat), I'm quite sure he'll wait 'till I'm dead before consuming me.

BTW, Is it bad that since I repainted my CR-90 for X-wing, I want to buy another for the original paint scheme, and when I get my core set for Armada and my firs CR-90 expansion for it I'll want to repaint one of them to be my alternate scheme from X-wing? And you realize, the same thing will happen when they make a Raider.

As others said, I think the Raider was always going to appear either way. In-house design seems like something they would want to promote even more.

When the Raider does come, we will once again have Imperial Swarms, just in a new setting.

For about a decade, my friends and I have been of the opinion that life would be easier if Apple just took a set amount from our pay checks each month and sent us products whenever they felt like it. For the past few years (since X-Wing was released, increasing with each new Star Wars related RPG and minuatures game) that same principle has become just as applicable to FFG.

This is "Necromancy for the Greater Good," as far as I am concerned.

Giving the Imps a fast escort is going to be awesome for the game.

It will let the Imps run a swarm fleet, provide a fast craft for maneuver scenarios, and even allow a decent escort base for the Imp-Star. With any luck, we'll be able to field 2 of them beside the Imp-Star Ace.

What's an Imp-Star?

Imperial Star Destroyer, generally assumed to be one of the Wave 2 ships.

I'm ok with an Imperial swarm ship as long as they play differently than the CR-90. I'd hate to see the differences in the sides evaporate in the second set of expansions.

...I don't know. What's with folks and their 'swarm-fleet' tactics. Sort of feels like its against the 'spirit' of the game, ehy?

Reminds me of all those Zerg rush players in StarCraft back in the day.

That being said, I'm pretty sure the community will work out ways to counter these sorts of fleets. Of course, there are always house rules...

To be honest, I haven't much thought about the ships I'll want to run from a tactical perspective, just from a **** That Looks Cool perspective, so the current winner for me is the Assault Friggate MkII and the Nebulon. I expect to see ISDs and Raiders in Wave 2, at which point a fleet with three different sized wedges will be available, which sounds amazing!
