So I'm looking at ordering sleeves to go with the fleets I'm waiting for and realized that an important question needs to be answered. How many of each size sleeve are we going to need per set? It looks to me like the upgrades will use the mini (yellow) size, the ships themselves will use the Tarot (orange), and the fighters and objective cards will use the standard (grey) size. Correct me if I'm off on any of those. Anyone want to take loose stabs at how many of each we'll need per set? A comprehensive list would be great for anyone else looking to order as well.

May have just answered my own question, but posting for community benefit. I think I've got the counts fairly accurate thanks to the Expand Your Fleet article, but the counts for the core are almost entirely speculation. Also none of the expansions so much as mention if they will have any additional mission/objective cards as far as I can tell, so this list may be updated based on comments/research from other members.
Core Set:
Tarot: 6; 2 for each ship in the set.
Standard: ~20-30; I figure 10-12 for squadron pilots, based on there being 10 fighters in the set and as far as I know only one named pilot per side. The only reason there would be twelve if that is the case is if they include enough generic pilots to fill the list. Hopefully there will also be at least 12 objectives. Anyone have a better count on those?
Mini: 15+33?=48?; Based on some of the old pictures, the core will have 15 small cards and the damage deck. The X-Wing core set had a 33 card damage deck (thanks Mikael Hasselstein), so I added those numbers here. I'm just going to call this one set of 50 sleeves for ordering purposes going forward.
Victory SD, Assault Freight Mark II:
Tarot: 2
Mini: 14
Gladiator SD:
Tarot: 2
Mini: 10
Nebulon-B, CR90:
Tarot: 2
Mini: 8
Rebel and Imperial Fighter Packs:
Standard: 8-12; Depends on the number of generic fighters they include, since I believe each of the four types of ships will have one named pilot for each type of fighter.

They always list the number of packs need on the back of the boxes.
When it comes to FFG sleeves I always grab what I can when I can, just to be on the safe side. If it says 1 I'll buy 2 because I know I'll most likely need them in future for the expansions.

Thanks Andy, I had seen that on the product page, the question I still had was how quickly do you need more than 1 package of 50 sleeves for each size. For example, I'm planning on getting two core sets which I've already ordered, and by launch I intend to preorder 1ea Vic SD, Neb-B, CR90, both fighter packs, and 2ea Gladiators and Mark-II's. Based on my math above, that means I'll still only need one orange pack with about 26 sleeves of that size in use, but I'll be right on the border for the grey size with about 50 needed, and way past what comes in a single pack of yellow with 178 needed. Anyone else looking to order a fleet right off the bat should know then that they'll most likely need 1 of the orange and grey sizes, but plan on one or two extra packs of yellow. Basically what you said, I just prefer to be more exact rather than shooting blind
1 orange, 1 yellow, 1 grey

Thanks for the tip on that. X-Wing doesn't have a similar image to tell you what you need, which would have saved me a bit.
So, which cards will require which sleeves?
I'm assuming the damage and upgrade cards will use the yellows.
The Ship cards look like they use the orange Tarot size.
The Squadron and Objective cards look like they use the standard (gray).
Just updated numbers because I forgot the damage deck.

The X-Wing damage deck has 33 cards.
Case of each it is. Maybe split the tarot case with some buddies.

Or save them for wave 2 +3
Dunno about other parts of the world, but down here in NZ there seemed to be a shortage of the yellow mini sleeves last year with all the X-Wing waves coming out.

My FLGSs (in Portland, Oregon, US) were out for a long while as well. I had even added them to my Decimator pre-order.
Yep I just ordered my orange sleeves today and two extra packs of yellow as I only have one left at the moment from x-wing
Sounds like I'd better pick up a few packs myself before we start a run on yellow sleeves
In the UK yellow sleeves are like gold dust. Someone on one of the other forums had a pop at me for letting people know there was a shop with stock! There is always a run on them :-)
Before Christmas I had 4 yellow packs. After assault, yt2400 and the Decimator they were cleaned out. Had to buy another 4 a couple of weeks ago. Luckily I knew the shop had some so was able to put the order in.
I've got 8 packs of the grey put away with a local shop, to cover the final star wars lcg packs, armada and x wing. May need to add another to that.
Long winded way of saying buy what you can when you can.
Think FFG missed a trick here. Wish the designers had got together and made the Armada ship (not the fighter) cards the same size as the hero cards from Assault. Might have made it worthwhile for FFG to produce sleeves in that size.

I think Armada should have more than 33 cards. 3 VSD with Motti is 30 or 33 Hull points, for standard game it's ok, but when rebels have Dodonna, it's really easy to run out of cards. It would be lame if standard play would force every player to have damage deck 2x.
Maybe when the "large" ship expansions come out they will include extra damage cards

It's just an estimate, but it does look like the damage deck is a bit thicker than X-Wing's

It's possible - you mean like X-Wing's Huge ships?

Yeah, a bit like the huge ships, since they are so large they would have even more systems to mess up
But also because a critical effect that might be appropriate for a smaller ship might be too severe on a really huge ship, depends how the cards are written, which we will have to wait and see
The store should allow you to filter the sleeves by size or by the gray, orange, yellow and so on they give when informing you of the sleeves the cards in a game would require.
Got my sleeves today
Ha ha, well played Maverick. Mine are part of my preorder so we'll see what happens.
As horrible and off suject this may be, I don't sleeve my miniature games sleeves anymore. I see it as a waste. My cards don't need protecting nor is it a card game where both secrecy and uniformity are important. You may ask about what if my cards get damaged. I say in return that I both take care of my stuff and could care less about minor wear and tear.

Strangly enough, thats how I treat my tablets and phones these days prefering their natural feel. This sort of makes it even funnier that I prefer cases on my cards and games
The main reason I sleeve my X-Wing stuff is because it makes them fit nice and snugly in my card folder so they dont all fall out all over the floor if I accidentally turn it upsidown
I dont sleeve mine either....i've been playing x-wing right from launch and haven't had the slightest mark or damage on a card yet, so i would rather spend the money on more toys
