I'm going to my first Store Championship in about 4 weeks and while I consider myself a reasonably competent player I've never really played under tournament rules before especially in regards to how asteroids are played. Generally my friends and I just scatter them on the table, move them about a bit so none are too close and leave it at that.

So, can someone explain to me the finer points around strategic asteroid placement? I can see how tactical placement might be helpful but I’m struggling to see how it makes that much difference, aside from if you are running Dash as either Pilot or Crew.
