Using Rolled Characters in EotE Beginner Box Adventure

By LORDs_diakonos, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

My group is hoping to roll and create our own characters which will be a mix of AoR,FaD and EotE rolled characters and starting them with the Mos Shuuta adventure.

I can tweak it a bit I guess to make it work.

Just wondering about advice or tips from others

You will not have a bit of trouble. The adventure is designed with some of the skills they have but if your group has some RPG experience they should have not trouble working around it.

Not a bunch of experience but I am going to help them create a balanced team etc..

As long as they have guidance from an experienced GM, the players shouldn't have any problems playing full-fledged PCs from the Core Rulebook. But in the spirit of the beginner game, I would definitely limit what they can spend that initial 10 XP on (which comes halfway through the adventure)—give them the option of a couple different skills or a talent.

So far I ran the EotE twice and each time had fresh characters instead of the included ones. Both times - not an issue whatsoever.

Desslok how did you handle initial XP and all skills/talents

Twice?!?! Are you seeing another group behind our back. I'm telling.

It was pretty much straight out of the book character generation. No special tweaking, no XP gain half way though like the book suggested. I think the only thing I wound up changing was I dropped the TIE Fighter fight at the end, but that was mostly because it didn't seem necessary to the story.

Um. . . I've been meaning to talk to you about that. I think it's time we see other people. It's not you, it's me. But don't take it too hard - there are plenty of other fish in the sea. . . . .

I'm doing the exact same thing-- I'm not having any trouble. Just follow character creation rules.

We actually went through it as our... 4th (~+60xp) session with our AoR characters, and it still worked fine. Well, as fine as anything does with a group like ours. Particularly as we have "Split the Party" down to an art form.
