Going high risk / high reward, I brought two Phantoms and an Interceptor to a turret-laden meta, and I'm pretty happy with the result, #8 / 36. Rather than copying over a wall of text and a good many photos from the day, I'm just going to leave a link here to my article on my experiences:

Trust me, I would have loved to have more pictures too, but at this level of an event and above, I can't justify pausing the game constantly for me to take a snapshot. While my style of play very rarely goes for all of a 60 minute match, I still can't risk causing the game to change by getting one less turn in because I was taking turn by turn photos. And if nothing else, it's distracting for my opponent, on top of slowing down the game.

I'd take a quick shot right after the End phase. That way, all you're doing is delaying an extra few seconds before you pick up your dials to choose moves. But I hear what you're saying...
