Shameless plug selling ships on ebay

CB don't scare us like that man.

Critias,

I would quote you but this forum is very not mobile friendly.

Apologies for taking your post the wrong way. As I stated based on the tone of answers I was receiving and the "" you placed around the community I believed you were trying to be smartarsey. It appears I read the intent of your post incorrectly and for that I apologize. It would have been helpful if you had posted your lack of background or at least indicated that you were only looking for clarification...you would have recurved a very different and far less aggressive response from me. I am never spoiling for a fight...but I am not afraid to ruffle feathers and rile people up when arguing. I try very hard to keep my answers honest and backed up by the evidence as I see it. As a former lurker on many a forum I found I usually only posts when something really bothered me...hence my comment on your post count. Again I read your intent and time incorrectly and I apologize.

I guess we got off on the wrong foot. I consider myself to be a reasonable if stubborn did so again sorry. I want to add, Welcome back to the forums. You will find alot of good people here and not many bad ones. There is a wealth of information here...hope you continue to contribute.

The "community" is not a single person.

I have no obligation to mold my reactions to something because someone else in another thread reacted differently. You seem to think that just because some people reacted to a similar situation with rebuttal, that now everyone must react the in same way all the time . Am I to keep a running tab on all the things the "community" has "decided" in all the threads since the beginning of time so as not to risk being a hypocrite and disagreeing with any of them?

If moderators are inconsistent, then complain about them. They are the only group under some sort of obligation to maintain a cohesive stance on such things. If one singular person expressed two opposite viewpoints, feel free to call them a hypocrite. Otherwise, each individual forum member is free to have their own opinion without chastising about hypocrisy and double standards.

For what its worth, I believe that this thread should be moderated just like any other like it. But I don't expect that everyone MUST now thrash it because a similar one was thrashed by some OTHER people.

I would like to allow this thread to be at peace but your post deserves an answer.

I think you are missing my point. The general reaction to CBs thread here appeared, to me, to be a tacit acceptance I have never seen afforded to anyone else on this board. Everyone else was quickly and sometimes forcefully shot down. I have presented the only thread I was able to find via several searches but I know, and I feel it is save to assume you know that there have been several threads of this type in the past. They were all white down quickly and not always nicely and with the form warning that this was not allowed. This led me to believe, due to different posters in each thread posting similar things, the the community as a whole disapproves of this. The reaction by posters in this thread was distinctly different and evident of a double standard. You can claim it's only your opining and that's all well and good...you would be correct it is only your opinion and this is only my observation. The reaction here flys in the face of all other reactions to similar threads in the past...I can only conclude by the very responses in this thread that it is due to who was trying to sell. I have observed this community as a whole over my time here and this what I see.

Feel free to say it's all only opinions and that everyone here is only an individual. You are correct...but look at the question I posted at the end of long post. Would I get tacit acceptance if I tried to sell something here? Would Ribann? I don't think so. You are of course welcome to disagree.

I don't think you and I are doing to see eye to eye here and that's fine. You see the individual opinions as just that, individual opinions. I have observed the different reactions here as more telling of a general community opinion, something more. We can agree to disagree. From what I know of your posting history you certainly aren't disagreeable. Feel free to engage me anytime you disagree with,me in the future. Thanks for your input into this discussion.

I'll acknowledge that I see what point you are trying to make, and I'll still disagree, though somewhat less vehemently. I acknowledge there is a good point there if not as strong (important? far-reaching? struggling for the right word) of one as you perhaps feel, and we can let this pass into the realm of forgotten threads.

Well I see that joke flew right over your head...

Didn't this already stop? Now we're posting to stop...after the subject of the thread has stopped...and then discussing the topic of stopping it. Heed your own advice. Stop it.

Shake, you have a bit of a chip on your shoulder? I placed no limits at 1K, just that a significant number of posts indicate an involve, ent in the community and I've always found that rules can be bent for people like that.

The rules are there to safeguard againt a huge amount of posts or people just registering to spam their sales. But people who've had hundreds of posts occaissionaly opening a topic? Why not? I've not seen Z4's topic but on principle do not agree with negative sentiments there.

This is so much non-sense... So if I give a million dollar to charity, should law be bent for me and allow me to commit a murder? You know... I am very commited to community...

Yes, because real life laws and rules on a forum are competely comparable. Don't be obtuse.

Call it non-sense if you want, in practice it works over at forum.fok.nl with thousands upon thousands of posts per day on every sort of discussion you could imagine. Even if you can imagine a lot.
