MADNESS? THIS IS... um... CARDIFF!!!!!"

Cardiff? Those Welsh can be pretty high up on the madness scale. There’s a good reason why the Englanders only went so far.

Weren’t they related to the people who ran around naked into combat and painted themselves with blue-colored psychoactive substances?

Wode is me....

So that exaplains booster blue.

So that exaplains booster blue.

That was EXACTLY the same thought I had, as I was typing that out!

I even delayed posting that message by ten or fifteen minutes, as I went to Wikipedia to do the research to confirm whether or not the Picts were actually found in Wales, or if they were just related to them.

Man, I had no idea that these game developers were SO smart! ;)

Hahaha, no that's mostly the Scots and Irish :)

We're the poor cousins, we got conquered.

And Cardiff is pretty Anglicised to be honest. When I hear a Welsh accent I tend to wince :)

Agreed. I kind of like the concept of the dark side warping perceptions, but I'd make sure the player knew that was a probable situation whenever they used dark pips, and I'd make sure to give them tools to mitigate it...Discipline checks, Perception checks, etc. Ultimately if the player knows their PC is in the throes of the dark side, they will have the option not to act...in which case I wouldn't pull a "Surprise! It's actually an Ewok sharpshooter...bang! You should have acted!"

That kind of perception warping sounds like a great use of Threat or Despair on certain rolls.

The OP method also reeks of the GM vs. PC mentality. At least he accepted that flipping dark pips only costs 1 Destiny Point for a single rolls worth, because WOW would that be harsh.

I agree that would be a pretty neat use of Despair, but in order to use those, you first need to understand this game and how it works which seems to be severely lacking here.

He has even admitted that he doesn't know the rules that well and keeps using the Destiny Points wrong.

So like his other thread, this isn't really hey let's have a discussion here, it's look how smart I am, right? No? Well you're wrong I am.

Yeah, but Doctor Who is shot in Cardiff. That makes up for a great deal!

(Mind you, being a stupid american and all, I couldn't tell you anything about the city other than Torchwood Plaza - but I invoke my god-given right not to know about anything beyond the US borders! :) )

So, it’s kind of ironic that just yesterday I heard that “Torchwood” is an anagram for “Doctor Who”.

Who knew? ;)
