an agressor list that im working on

By Grave13, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I figured with the iggy C+D pair up that there is enough movement possibilities to keep an opponent off guard.

I have been messing with a list idea but still unsure on some things.

IG-88C

push the limit

Mangler cannon?

Sensor jammer?

Stealth device?

IG-2000

Inertial dampeners

IG-88D

Expert Handling

Mangler Cannon?

Advance Sensors

Experimental Interface

IG-2000

Inertial Dampeners

Now the upgrades with a question mark by them are things im not 100% on using or not because my mind is second guessing things on those areas... like im not sure if the mangler cannon is the better option on a cannon because i like it because it covers ranges 1-3. Other Ideas were to use the Heavy laser cannon but **** thats seven points on a cannon i can only shoot one time with per round..... i just feel the other cannons are more viable for theagressor unless you are running iggy-B.

Sensor jammer figured it wouldnt hurt to have a chance to stop some damage coming through. Stealth device only reason I would consider it is because the agility is already at three bumping it up to four yeah lets get crazy.

Could add autothrusters in if I wanted but figured unless im facing against someone with turrets in their list then im just going to keep them on the side for situation controll

I was thinking of something similar, using IG-88 B & C. I like the mangler cannons o for B's ability and PTL to take advantage of C's ability on both of them.

I was thinking of keeping it there, and getting a Binayre Pirate with a deadman's switch for fun and to blockup my opponent early on.

I like it. Simple and proves that it is possible to throw in a third ship with two aggressors. Iggy B is just so tempting to use with his gunner like ability... i do like the mangler cannon on any aggressor the best. It covers all ranges.

If you aren't flying 88B the Mangler cannon doesn't add enough to justify its cost. It has range 1-3 but at r1 you should be shooting your main weapon because off the extra attack die, giving it an effective range of 2-3 like the hlc. Even at r2-3 that extra crit isn't worth 4 points.

If you are set on using cannons you should consider autothrusters and try to stay at r3. This greatly boosts your defence (4 dice + focus + evade + autothrusters is almost unhittable) and the cannons negate your opponents the extra green die.

Ships with lots of red/green dice benefit greatly from actions because it gives them the chance to modify all those dice. EI+EH gives you double stress so you won't be taking any actions next turn (and limited ones this turn) in addition to making you relatively predictable.

Last point of critique is the sensor jammer, which is only usefull if you can deny actions with some blockers or some stress inducers. Go for AS or FCS.
