so the current gameas a lot of people playing to ship lists. My thought was how smart is this really? Can a beefy to ship build really hold it alone competitively against low pilot skill swarm? I watched a battle report on youtube and an entire tie swarm leveled a double deci list in 5 turns. is the new meta safe to play against the original meta? Sure not every large ship build is going to have 0 defensebut it still concerned me. Thoughts?
are two ships list really smart

2 ship lists survive against swarms mostly by dodging arcs to minimize the number of attacks that they need to defend against each round.
Edited by WWHSDIn a tournament setting (especially 60mins) having a robust ship can make it difficult for your opponent to kill them in time.

Which is why Fat Han feels broken to many.
I'm planning on strategies that kill big ships and **** the torpedoes on other lists at the moment. Right now, everyone is playing with the new toys. Also, tournament rules benefit the big ships. So, I'm working on a list that can smash the big ships as fast as possible.
Now, if they changed the tournament rules so that if you did half damage to a big ship, you got half points, we might see a shift away from them in tournaments.
I don't know.. I think once S&V comes out you go to see a shift away from this. im betting were going to start seeing a lot of 3 or 4 ship build that will tear 2 ships apart. this is just speculation as its just n my buddy playing test builds but there is a phantom/intercepter build that seems better everythime I fly it ( I think im getting better at maneuvering)
I'm sure hoping so! I'm tired of seeing just big ships all the time. It will be nice to get back to a game that is not just about the big ships.
The more I think about it, the more I think Ion Pulse Missile really needs to start finding it's way into my lists. One of those on a high PS pilot gives you a chance to bring all your guns to bear on those big ships.
Honestly, it comes down to how well you fly your squad. 2 squad builds are strong because the large ship (fat han, decimator, Dash) typically has high PS and can arc dodge (boost) without sacrificing damage output (Han ability, Predator, Lone Wolf). That makes it harder to pin down and kill in a tournament setting. That's not to say 2-ship builds are God-like because they do have their flaws if exposed by the opponent.
Swarms are the large ship counter, but they're lunch meat for Phantoms and Corran. So 2 ship builds are basically trying to hedge whatever the opponent brings.
I do not think S+V is going to change the number of two-ship builds. It is providing one of the best 2 ship builds in the game in the 2xIG2000.
