another discussion on ship roles versus what new ships we need in the game.

I feel like we are missing out on a great opportunity with these TIE droid abilities. Something along the lines of IG-88's droid ability.

Base stats: TIE/D

PS: 1

Attack: 2

Agility: 3

Hull: 3

Shields: 0

TIE Fighter dial, but with white K-turns

Actions: Focus, Barrel Roll, Boost, Evade

Upgrade Bar: System Upgrade

Cost: 18

Title:

Slaved Combat Computer

TIE/D Only

At the beginning of the Activation Phase, you may choose a friendly ship at range 1-3. You gain the pilot ability of the chosen friendly ship in addition to your own pilot ability until the end of the round.

Cost: 5

Named Pilots

Cybot Galactica A-5

PS: 3

When defending or attacking, you may spend focus or evade tokens assigned to other friendly ships at range 1-3 as if they were assigned to you.

Cost: 22

Cybot Galactica A-6

PS: 3

At the beginning of the Combat Phase you may choose 1 enemy ship at range 1. Until the end of the round, your pilot skill is equal to the chosen pilot's.

Cost: 22

Cybot Galactica A-7

PS: 3

When declaring an attack, before you roll 1 or more attack dice, you may guess aloud a number of successful results. If you roll that number of successful results, you may add one Hit result to your roll. For the purposes of this ability, a 'successful result' is considered either a Hit or a Critical Hit.

Cost: 22

It's an interesting idea but the Slaved Combat Computer's effect would have to only apply to other TIE/Ds, otherwise you'd end up with a swarm of Howlrunner clones, while Howlrunner herself hung back at r3 from her squad, out of danger. You would not want to face that swarm at range 1.

That's what the point cost is for. The title is 5 points a pop. And even the generic is 18 points, 1.5 times the cost of an academy. The Howlrunner clone swarm you envision is only going to be a "swarm" of 4 ships, 3 if any of the unique droid pilots are used.

as much as I have seen people talking about the TIE droid, I am surprised we haven't seen it yet.
