I think since it was a collaborated project, it is not outside the realm of possibilities.
and I think it would be cool and add to its popularity.

I, too, would like the Raider sooner rather than later.
Edited by PewPewPewI'd much prefer to see more recognisable old stuff rather than new stuff.
For example, IG-88 for a start. Or Bossk.
See it floating around in the background? Smaller ships escorting a large Star Destroyer?
Yes.
And more close up looks in Rebels and other cartoons.
Since it was introduced just a few years prior to the start of the show, I would much rather it made an appearance in rebels where it will be a brand new state of the art ship than in EP vii where it would be a 40-50 year old relic.
If it does show up in either the show or movies, I will be much more comfortable with the job the story group is doing.

It'll be about 36 years old, which isn't that old since the US is still flying F-15 (1972, 43 years old) and U-2's (1957, 58 years old).
First manufactured, and latest production are a lot different.
Maybe it'll be like the Raider-III much like the Victory-I and Victory-II?
Edited by PewPewPewI'd rather see it in Rebels. It's a relatively brand new ship in that time period.
Plus, adding it to a cartoon is much easier than the big screen
Yes!
For all we know, it might turn up in the next episode!
It'll be about 36 years old,
40. Force awakens is supposed to be 30 years after RotJ, the raider entered service 6 years BBY and there are 4 years between Yavin and Endor.
And I'm not saying that raiders couldn't, or even shouldn't, be in service during the force awakens time period, just that it makes more sense fore them to be commonly seen and relevant in rebels instead.
"would it be cool"
Yes.
The only thing I think needs to be included is the death star 3.

Is that a monocle on DS3?
Dr. Ball is looking pretty grim in this scene.

I wouldn't surprise me if that is exactly why they specified its introduction date. It doesn't seem like they usually mention those.
Possibly. It also could be that this is the first time FFG has designed a new ship (for SW) from scratch and they wanted to put a bit more effort into explaining its background in the universe.
Like I said above though, if the ship does end up making an appearance on film then I will be much more impressed with the story group.
I'd love to see the Raider in any of the available film or television options.
If this were to happen, it would be a bit like the flea wagging the tail wagging the dog.
I expected to see it in one of the upcoming movies without a second thought after I read it was a collaboration!! So if it doesn't make an appearance, I will be disappointed!
The only thing I think needs to be included is the death star 3.
Production funding must have gone down hill after the DS2 blew up... The prototype that was sucked into a blackhole looks better.
In short, yes. I would like to see it in "Rebels" and in Episode 7. Would definitely up the Raiders street cred.
Maybe we can get a re-re-edit of ANH from Lucas with Raiders CGI'd into the Tantive chase opening scene.

Every episode starts with scene of a starship flying towards a planet. Depending on the setting of the opening scene it may appear patrolling an Imperial backwater system ambushing some Rebels or being ambushed by Rebels
Looks like the Raiders of the lost blueprints are flanking the Tantive IV now.
