Does anyone else think evasion dice seem somewhat inconsistent? I mean why do Y-Wings and B-Wings have only one dice to defend with but clearly bulkier and less agile ships like the Millennium Falcon or the Outrider have 2? Yes, they are sluggish by fighter standards but to say a light freighter is harder to hit is ludicrous. The Y-Wing has such a sleek profile too. Unless you are above or below one, it's profile is a narrow line. And from directly in front or behind it's more compact still. The Millennium Falcon is practically shaped like a giant target. This new Aggressor is another example. It's profile is infinitely more larger and hittable than a small, wedge-shaped A-Wing and it can't realistically be as nimble. How does it's ability to evade fire even compare?
Evasion seems inconsistant
You noticed!

Have you ever played x-wing or tie fighter pc games? the y-wing is slow and easy to stay behind as is the b-wing they are neither one hard to hit.
The outrider is definitely more agile than both.
My Falcon didn't come with 2 agility, did yours?
Edited by Jo JoYeah but we do have a large ship coming with 3 agility!!!!!!

That was the collectors edition...
In case anyone misunderstand that was a joke, FFG would not do that... unlike some other companies.

It's pilot is a hyper-intelligent computerized killing machine able to make instantaneous decisions based on probability with zero reaction times and also network remotely with other pilots on the field.
The A-Wing's pilot is not.

It's still only 1 Agility though, even with Mr 3,720 to one.
I mean, I don't care either way.
I pre-ordered the Corvette because it's awesome.
But there was a certain amount of whinging around here about, "packaging mandatory upgrades with a $100 ship blah blah cry cry."
Yeah but we do have a large ship coming with 3 agility!!!!!!
this is explained very well on wookiepedia. in essence, because it is a droid pilot, he doesn't have to worry about inertia. The ship is therefore free to perform maneuvers which would easily kill a living pilot. the ship is designed with this in mind and is capable of far more than your average mid sized freighter. also, note that it isn't that fast, just very manouverable.

C-3PO is a powerful upgrade no doubt.
But there are companies out there that would in fact offer a collectors edition of a unit that has better stats than the normal one.
Although you may not want to you could see agility as some of the random luck of shots hitting unimportant areas of a ship. You may say "but that is what HULL is for" and you may be right but if you look at Hull as the places on a ship that you don't want damaged then allowing dice to count for the rest makes some sense.
Also remember that smaller doesn't always mean more nimble.

I think your effort here was wasted. The reference just wizzed by these kids.

Throw the Falcon title on the YT and it's *like* having 2 Agility...

That would imply that the restriction on maneuverability is the g-force stresses on the pilot. But I think it is actually the mass of the ship itself that is maneuvered.
Example It takes a cargo hauler (in real life) something like 5 miles to stop. If put the crew in G-suits that isn't going to reduce that distance at all.
If 3 dice of dodging isn't going to hurt a human in an A-wing I don't see why it would kill one in an Aggressor.
On a related note: Referring to physics in Wookiepedia is pretty silly to start with. Star Wars clearly has anti-gravity and so can shield human bodies from the forces of acceleration as indicated by the fact that the whole crew of the Falcon isn't turned to goo when it jumps to hyperspace.
Printed agility values go from 0 to 3. The game has over 20 ships. There will be tenous overlaps somewhere.
yeah but ANY fighter should be WAAAAAAY more maneuverable than ANY freighter... I don't care how hopped up it is. at its core its still a freighter!! however that said i CAN see it having waaay more shields and hull...

True in theory, but we have a Han Solo and Han Solo clone wrapped up on the Frieghter's side of the playing field
Given his performance in the empire strikes back, where he outmaneuvered some two star destroyers and god knows how many ties even through an asteroid field, I'd say there's some justification for that agility score ![]()

No, it's really not.
An Evade token can be used once, and it comes at the expense of an action. An extra agility dice can be used every attack (unless you're facing Wedge. Or an Outmanueverer).

She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts kid. ![]()
With respect, I'd suggest watching ESB again, the part where Solo says, "We can still outmaneuver them." Y-wings can't do what the Falcon does in that scene.
Heck, watch the Ep. VII trailer.
The Falcon and Outrider are both in a league of their own. Lando and Han and Dash dumped buckets of credits into those ships. I'm not saying I like it, but it's just the way it is. The good guys have cool stuff.
And I say this all as an Empire-exclusive player who likes nothing more than blowing up fancy freighters and their annoying crew and droids and whatnot.
Inertial dampers mean the pilots feel none of the g forces from their crafts movements unless they turn it down like wedge does.
Turn down for G's
