Bounty Hunters

By Red Castle, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Since wave 2 came out, I always wanted to fly Boba with another Bounty Hunter flying another ship than the Firespray. Now that IG-88 is out, I can finally do it. So here is a sneaky Bounty Hunter list I've made to make them as unpredictable as they should be:

Boba Fett (39pts)

Veteran Instinct (1pts)

Inertial Dampeners (1pts)

Engine Upgrade (4pts)

Navigator (3pts)

Slave 1 + Flechette Torpedoes (2pts)

IG-88D (36pts)

Veteran Instinct (1pts)

Advanced Sensors (3pts)

Inertial Dampeners (1pts)

Autothrusters (2pts)

Mangler Cannon (4pts)

Ion Cannon (3pts)

Boba Fett act at PS 10 and serve as the high PS/highly maneuvrable killer. You pick a general direction at your turn, reajust speed once you reveal at PS10 and then boost to reajust again if needed. Navigator+Engine Upgrade are also there to help you get into range 1 where your ability trigger: If the Opponent tried to block you, you go long and get him in your rear arc, if he went long, you go slower to get a front shot. Alternatively, if no shot is possible, you can always reajust and boost out of sight. Inertial Dampeners is there in case someone decided to park right behind you. Flechette Torpedoes mainly for the eventual Phantom that you might go against.

IG-88D is your sneaky guy meant to go against the big guys and swarms. With 3 agility and Autothrusters, the turrets should have trouble going through his shields and hulls, except for a HLC Dash, but PS8 makes you move after him and should help you get into his range 1 ring thanks to boost and your speed. Advanced Sensors guarantee you to have an action each turn to either boost to be sneakier, Evade to be even more elusive, Focus for general purpose or Target lock if you go all out offense or prepare yourself for the next round. The Mangler Cannon should be a pain for the Decimator to deal with and the Ion Cannon allows you to exerce some control, or pair it with Boba Flechette for a 1 turn stress+Ion combo. Inertial Dampeners is there to add even more tricks to your variable k-turn.

Competitive or not, it should be very fun to fly and give a headache to your opponent trying to guess your next moves. Unpredictability is the keyword for this team-up.
