Just trying to find a reference about this. I have been playing that if you try to barrel roll towards the edge and during measuring you have an edge over you are gone. But I think this is wrong now? Any help please.
Barrel Roll off the Table
FAQ, Page 17:
Nope, that's correct. If you land a roll or a boost and any part of your ship base is outside the play area, you're gone.

Edited by ParravonQ: Can a ship decloak or perform a boost or barrel roll action that would cause it to go outside the play area (and thus flee the battlefield)?
A: Yes. If a player performs a boost or barrel roll that causes it to go outside the play area, it flees the battlefield and is immediately destroyed.
Yes however that question states that it may so there is a choice. Because in the rules it says when barrel rolling you can measure before committing to the action. So I think its like target locking measure first checking then decide.
If you're using the competitive rules, then you have to declare which direction you are going to roll. So if you declare you are going to try a roll to the right and it just happens to put you off the play area, then that's just unfortunate. It counts as a legal move and you must do it if you declared it. And off the play area is destroyed.
Under the standard rules, you can pre-measure, discover that it would put you out, and then change your direction.

Sums it up nicely.
