Make sure you EI Expose off of Ysanne (once she comes into play) as you can't take a free evade action if you're stressed from EI. And then obviously you want to shoot with Vessery first so Chiraneau can spend the TL as needed. Overall, I like the list.
The problem I see with this is that if you are using expose and target lock on the decimator and you want to leave the target lock for Vessery to use you will have no way to modify your decimator shots.
how so barrie? with VI vessery has same PS
so you shoot vessery then shoot deci (and use TL as necesary) next round just re-TL with the admiral

Sorry I did not see Veteran Instincts on Vessery.
I've run this list before to some success. The biggest problem is the decimator tends to draw a lot of hate fire and that hull gets eaten through quicker than you may think. Against 3 ship builds it's usually not a big deal, but if you go up against a swarm you're going to have a bad day.
When wave 6 comes online, might I suggest the following tweak?
Downgrade the HLC to a Mangler Cannon (range 1-3, 3 attack dice, change a hit to a crit result). Add Weapons Engineer to Chiraneau.
That way you can maintain two locks, drastically reducing the predictability of Vessery and freeing up Chiraneau's action even if one target locked enemy is destroyed, as there still is one for Vessery to shoot at.

I had a similar thought, Dagonet. Downgrade the HLC to a Mangler, and I had Vessery picking up a Hull or Stealth Device. I considered Weapons Engineer, but it's an expensive upgrade for what it is. Flown well, the one target-lock should be enough. And the two super shots directed at one ship can erase it, depending on what it is.
The Weapons Eng. would have more utility against Swarms, but my current meta doesn't boast many of those. Two, three, and four ships builds dominate the field in my area.
You have a point, always build against your local meta.
Have you considered the Rebel Captive as an option, after downgrading to a Mangler?
I had not, but I will.
I personally like putting an Ion and Cluster Missiles instead of the HLC on Vessary, since the control option and the ability to roll up to 12 dice in an attack on a target are pretty cool. But that's not super popular.
Other than that, this list is pretty great. I love the Defender/Decimator combo, even if I'm more a Oicunn/Mara Jade fan.
