As I've predicted for awhile IG-88 will crush fat han. It has a chance against Echo swarm, But I'd put the advantage to Echo in that meetup.

End result: we break the Fat Han Meta. It's now replaced for a few months by aggressor meta, then we start getting back to a more diverse build environment as people realize that aggressors are weak against 4 ship and swarm builds.

Also, to address the main part of this topic, I still think Fat Han is where its at for the meta, even after this ship's reveal. Large-based turreted ships with a high PS and Engine upgrade will always have the ability to react to your movement and arc dodge you. And, because of their turrets, still manage to get shots off at you.

IG-2000 is super exciting, but I do not see it overthrowing the king just yet.

I dunno Crabbok, three Attack vs 3 defence and 8 HP will take a Han a long time to chew through. The aggressor can take a HLC and outmanuever and still be WAY under Han's points. That will be 4 dice vs 0 defence most of the time thanks to the aggressors manueverability, so you're dependant on free evades from lando. At which point you'll be stressed every turn allowing the agressor to easy keep out of arc and keep denying you your agility dice and C3PO ability. I think the agressor wil pulverise Han, especially with the extra points he has to bring support ships. Paul heavens build would struggle vs two aggressors and a headhunter.

Two IG-2000s with HLCs and IG-88B beg to differ. You can dodge one HLC attack, not 4. Throw ATs on both and Han will be missing A LOT. He'll have to chew through 16 hit points that can dodge at the minimum one hit every attack. Likely more with the evade action or focus.

Fat Han will always be here as its a super solid build, but the Aggressor seems like a decent counter. You will have to really out-fly your opponent with the Falcon.

Analysis:

Green dice are ****. Expecting them to do anything for you will only leave you disappointed.

Han has higher pilot skill anyway, so even IF he didn't have a turret to play with, he would generally win heads-up against an Aggressor.

The IG-88 has some cool toys, but it's too early to start bandying about meta predictions.

About the only Wave 6 conjecture I'm willing to put forward is that the M3-A Scyk is pretty much dead on arrival.

Crabbok, chewing 4 shield / 4 hull of a 3 agility ship with focus + evade + autothrusters takes a lot of time with a turret, you seriously need to get them into your fire arcs with Han to reliabily deal some damage.

I'm not convinced that Han will hold onto the meat so easily after Scum comes out. One factor will be the new and shiny toys and the inclusion of Autothrusters. Many people will be exploring the ships and what they can do, by default many Han players will just switch to play these new toys. Tie Interceptors and A-Wings will see a rise in compedative play they have never seen with autothrusters. A Fat Han that relies on his ability and gunner to force hits through is really going to struggle against a 3 evade ship with auto-thrusters. Focus will become important for Han to successfully lands consistent hits of these elusive ships. If Han is not evadeding every turn he's not as fat as he once was and is more vulnerable to suffering damage.

This is one of the most exciting times as Wave 6 nears along with the Store Championship series underway. I would advise everyone to not stand still as the ground beneath our feet is moving and you don't want to get swallowed alive!

Iggy can easily stand up to Han and the Falcon. But, I'm not seeing what makes it so easy to crush a fat Han build.

Pretty much nothing.

If you build conservatively you can maybe squeeze that new HWK into a double-IG list? Might help. Might not.

What a dual Iggy squad can bring against Phantoms is larger arcs. Better to set up a crossfire. Especially with the two alternating S-loops.

Two large base ships can take up a ton of real estate with their firing arcs. With that Gunner like effect of IG-88B and the HLC, the phantom will have to get lucky to come out unscathed.

Fat Han works because:

1) he's a lot of hull to burn through in a 70 min.

2) he can get 2 evades per turn w/ Falcon title and C-3PO

3) he reliably dishes out damage w/ Han's ability and Luke.

The first two are dealt with as IG-88 can use cannons and get the free gunner added. You can use HLC's or Mangler cannons, but you get your attack, and then attack again if you miss. It's almost like Han's ability back at him.

If you used Autothrusters and/or the free evade from the boost ability, you have the potential to evade both of Han's shots. Sure, green dice are fickle, but if you can get the 2 free evade AND have 3 green dice, you have the ability to avoid his shots.

That's the thing, it doesn't reliabily dish out damage against 3 agility turtling autothruster ships. And the IG is not an interceptor, where if you manage to get a shot through, you are much closer to killing it, in this case you are still very far from killing it.

Two IG-88's are significantly more points than a fat han. figure 58 points for a Fat Han, but your 2 with HLC's come in at 86 points, which leaves you with room for only a Z-95, or some upgrades. Maybe we are talkiing about full 100 point builds here, in which case I'd still take the han +2 Rookie X-Wings . It would be a good fight though, but Stressing Han isn't a big deal. Plus he doesn't "NEED" to stress. Can always gamble and guess "1" when doing the lando roll, pretty good chance of getting at least 2 evades, and you may ALSO get a focus. That fight woudl likely come down to things like asteroids, initial placement, and a little luck.

I think the most important thing to note about the Aggressors is the combination of 3 defense dice, 10 hp, the evade action and 3 attack dice or a cannon. This is the most durable ship we've ever seen with 3 agility. Han is notorious for being able to ignore high agility due to his ability, predator and gunner, guaranteeing at least 1 damage per attack against even the most slippery of targets. But when you have 10 hp instead of 3 or 4, 1 damage per turn is not very scary.

However, Fat Han has already been on his way out since Wave 5. Why choose between a fat turret and a Phantom when you can play both? Chrianeau + Whisper is starting to prove itself as the strongest list in the game, easily beating Outriders, other Phantoms and swarms, with about a 50/50 against Fat Han lists.

So the question really is, how do double Agressors do against Chiraneau+Whisper? I think if the Aggressors wide arc proves to be enough to catch the Phantom enough turns to nail it with that pseudo-gunner ability, then the match up will favor the Aggressors. I think if it comes down to an Aggressor with Autothrusters against a Decimator, it's 50/50, due to the Decimator moving second and either keeping the Aggressor in arc every other turn with Engine or negating autothrusters half the time with Expose. But there's no way a full health Decimator is beating 1 and a half Aggressors with autothrusters. So it all depends on whether 2 Aggressors can kill Whisper before getting too badly damaged.

The most beautiful aspect of the Agressor is the versatility of builds. I don't think we will find an auto build for the ship. There is simply so many ways to play the thing the only card that comes auto is the title card.
