Exploring the IG88 builds

I'm not sure about using B with the HLC. How often does an HLC fail to get damage through, even without a modifier? Especially if you're hunting turreted ships like you mention, that will often have 0/1 evade dice, a C-3P0 that they won't trigger against 1 hit knowing you'll get the second shot, etc.

You are not obliged to take the first shot with the HLC. You even could get Accuracy Corrector to guarantee a miss on the first shot.

Why would you use Accuracy Corrector to guarentee a miss? Just to trigger the HLC? Why not just fire the HLC the first time?

Exactly, or worst case scenario. Han throws in 3CPO, takes a damage and heals with R2-D2 Crew. Just fire the heavy laser cannon and if you whiff, nice, you roll again!

I am digging on some of this S&V stuff. Makes deserting from the Empire a little easier with each material release.

so, how do these things deal with phantoms?

also, anyone use just one yet?

Yeah, if you use Accuracy Corrector, Han just rolls a natural die. If it whiffs, he spends an Evade token, if it turns up a dodge, great, you keep the token and 3PO for the next shooter. 1 damage is pretty acceptable on a Falcon. I think with this ability you open with the HLC, and it's insurance if you roll crap or your opponent has lucky green dice.

You ditchin the Empire for Scum and Villany as well lol. Been waiting for a faction independent of Rebels or Imperials.. love the bounty hunter life

If I have to go with double IG-88s I'd go with C and D with PTL, adv sensors, mangler cannon, and inertia dampeners. Don't know what to spend the last two points on, perhaps just keep them for initiative.

Ive posted a list but since theres a discussion here...

Im planning on running B and C together. D is cool too for those J-Turns but i cant pass up a free Evade and Gunner every turn. Probably load out with...

Advanced Sensors, PTL, Mangler Cannon, Title, Autothrusters and Dead Man's Switch

I think the Large base lends itself well to anything closing in for the kill with Dead Man's Switch on there, my only maybe is the EPT. PTL is good, and can add more defence with the Focus token but it removes that K-Turn and S-Loop from the equation. Im considering that if i took Outmaneuver, or perhaps even Lone Wolf and run them at distance from each other to force the opponent to split their attention (meaning one can get behind etc) it may work better.

It means relying on arc dodging more for defence but i should think its plenty capable against most things barring Echo. A Boost followed by a 3S or 4K is pretty big on one of those big bases.

I cut my teeth flying TIEs, so the empire will always have a special place...but being the third wheel is shaping up to be lots of fun.

I need to play them to know for sure but I don't think I'm going to like either PTL or EI on the IG-2000 if the s-loop is as cool in practice as it seems like it will be. I'd image that I'd want to use it about as frequently as a Defender K-Turns. I real that I can use AS, PTL, then pull a green move but I think I'd rather take an EPT that is going to be useful on the rounds that I do a red move or if I'm fighting something that is doling out stress.

Would likely work best with B, as daredevil stops you from boosting (unless you use EI, then you have 2 stress) and you shouldn't use DD before the S-Loop.

But if you go boost then daredevil and then take a green maneuver it'll only cost you a single stress to really end up in unexpected places. ;).

Not a maneuver for every occaision, no.

I'll admit, that's pretty tempting, especially since both boost and DD give you a chance to change direction without affecting your dial. I guess if you make a green next turn, you haven't lost an action.

Interesting idea to say the least.
