Autothrusters, hlc, fcs, title, and 3 point ept will come to 50 points x2.
Well....i know what i'll be trying first!

Falcon hunting Party (also Dash):
IG-88B + C with: Title + Outmaneuver + Mangler + FCS + Prox mine + Inertial Dampeners
= 98 total
Or how bout this super tanky build:
IG-88C+ A: Title + PTL + Advanced Sensor + ATs + Mangler + Bomb
= 100 points.
Advanced Senor, Focus + Boost, gain an evade then complete a green maneuver to clear stress. Once you blow something up, one of them can gain a Shield back.
Edited by Jo JoThese things can tank like the dickens! Autothrusters, 8 HP behind 3 Agility, Evade, all protecting cannons. I could really see any big turret ship getting wrecked by these guys. They don't have a white K-turn, but they've got advanced sensors, tons of greens, and the maneuverability to point those cannons anywhere.
Too many great options! These guys can be made into just about anything!
Ya it's kind of weird comparing these to the Defenders. Sure big bases can be a disadvantage but stat line and upgrade wise it seems like all bonus.
Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't this the first ship with a green 3 bank?
It is, I just had to create some new graphics for the vassal module.
Oh my.

As a fan of Defenders, it's pretty rough. For all it's arguable drawbacks, it sort of had this niche as a tough, high Agility cannon carrier. The Aggressor now completely owns that niche. Advanced Sensors makes up for whatever you lack from the K-turn, and the ability to take Autothrusters is a massive boost in the "big game hunter" role.
For all of those claiming they will be easily blocked and that'll be their downfall, you can always put enhanced scopes on them to ensure you move first and can't get blocked. Given, that has the downside of moving first, but at PS6, does it matter that much?
For B's ability do you even need 2 cannon equipped? HLC miss and use the same HLC on the second attack?
One cannon is all it takes.
Of course HLC doesn't function at range 1, so it might not actually be the best option.
I think its main weakness is going to be the large base. Fettigator syndrome is a real thing.
Remember, they only have one forward arc, and their bases take up a big chunk of real estate on the table. Blocking these guys is a real counter. Right now, big-ship blocking isn't a big deal because of 360 arcs on the popular large ships. But these droids only have that front arc and a bump could be devastating. I expect 88 builds will seek to minimize that effect, and counters will try to exploit it.
Stay on target may also find a home here. Maneuver variability is probably going to be super-important to these droids.
Babaganoosh is saying very smart things in this thread, and people should be listening.
The Aggressor has a great stat line for its cost and a great dial, without question. But a large base with a traditional firing arc isn't a price we're really used to paying, so it's being discounted. That could be a mistake, when you consider that the only other ship in the game with the same base and firing arc is the Lambda.
So before you exult too much about how awesome these are going to be, think about what it would feel like to fly a list that was just a pair of Lambda + Engine Upgrade. Think about how easy it would be to outfly those ships, particularly if you knew for sure they would never run higher than PS8.
This is going to be a great ship for those who can master it, but the learning curve is going to be pretty **** forbidding.
Edited by Vorpal SwordI thought I was being dense and wondering why this has two cannon upgrade slots, but then I realized you could equip Autoblaster and HLC and never have a blank spot in your firing range, or Ion Cannon to make sure you can get to range 2-3 for your HLC.

This isn't the Outrider. You don't need a range 1 cannon to fill the void. Its 4 attack primary should be quite sufficient at range 1.
I can see running say an Ion cannon and HLC/Mangler. If you can manage to get on a flank or behind, you can Ion cannon them and then follow up with an HLC attack.

Only the Outrider title restricts primary weapon attacks if you have a cannon equipped.
So strictly speaking you don't need a second cannon - you can just shoot them with your primary weapon.
You will not, however, be able to make use of IG-88 B's ability with an HLC at range 1. Not a big deal.
Advanced Sensors, PTL, Bomb or Mine
Boost>Evade>PTL (Proximity Mine)>Red Manuever>Fire at target that was hit by mine
or
Boost>Evade>PTL (Focus or TL)>Release Bomb>Red Manuver>Fire at target that was hit by bomb
I find that evil
Edit: PtL can not drop Proximity Mine due to the "Drop Action" i not in the action bar

Well, assuming you wanted to lean on its ability, you'd want to always fire with a secondary weapon.

Ooo hadn't thought of that, first ship with a bomb slot and system slot eh?

And the Boost/Evade setup for the C ship as well

I think the Aggressor will be much better than the Lambda at flying because it has K-turns and S-loops. The shuttle gets one pass at the enemy, then gets shot down as it lazily lists around the asteroids.
Awesome abilities, fantastic dial and incredible upgrade options but I do wonder how effective IG2000 can be against other higher PS positional ships while being locked at PS6(or 8 with VI) and with a front only arc.
So you can get all four of these on the table together in Epic and the final round of an Escalation tournament. In fact, you could run a whole Escalation tournament by adding one ship each round. Maybe not the most sensible approach, but it strikes me as kinda cool.
So many green moves, built in gunner FOR CANNONS! My head is spinning right now from excitement!

Agree with Vorpal here... Though the Lambda doesn't have a K-Turn (or a green filled dial to help clear the stress!).

You'd have to start the first game of it with only 42 points spent or less, that doesn't even get you an HLC on your first one ![]()
