Leebo as crew card is not that great.....or his he?

I know he is half the cost of the upgrade to boost but that comes at a cost of an ion token. Now the way I see it is you get one free boost in the game then get an ion token, Large ships keep the ion token until it get another ion token and preforms the white 1, so Why would I want this card for one free boost then the next time I boost I fully ion myself. now if there is any enemy with ion this make this card even worse. Trying to see the good in this card. What do people see as the benefit of it?

Mostly what you just said - it's a good filler card for 2pts and can be used with EI as a sort of PTL. However, doing this 2 times will leave you ioned and stressed - no thanks. I've seen this on YT2400s a few times but tbh i wouldnt really bother with it unless i really only have 2 points to spend.

If you factor in the following:

- How many Ion weapons do you usually face?

- Do they cause you problems with their 1 damage max per turn (and likely added damage next turn as your opponent knows where you are)

If the answer is few or 0, and none/few respectively - it is an amazing upgrade for its cost.

even if you face 0 ion damage from the enemy you still get ion from your self so the second time you use leebo you would now have two token and be moving white one and if you PTL you are ion and stressed....

You'd still see situations where the subsequent boost wouldn't change anything/do little to your overall plan.

It is a large ship after all and a 1 forward white isn't the end of the world, especially when you get to choose when to perform it (and provided there are no other Ion effects).

Again, 2 points.

Oh and you wouldn't need to buy the Falcon (or an extra?).

If you didn't have the full 4 points for eu (or needed that mod slot for something else) it's a compromise. I don't think it's a great card but for some players the being a little predictable one turn is worth it.

Actually, by far the best time to have Leebo is when your opponent has Ions. You can now control when that second ion token appears, rather than your opponent, which is a pretty big deal. Also, when Ionized a boost action is priceless and Leebo allows you that as well.

Being ionized really isn't a big deal, you can still go 1 forward and if you need to boost again. Ions are normally bad news because your opponent controls when it happens, so they make sure you wind up on rocks/bumping/going off the table. An ion you control doesn't do that.

Finally, not only is Leebo 2 points cheaper he also occupies a different slot. If you want something in your Modification slot, getting boost from your crew is a great deal. For example, an Outer Rim Smuggler with Leebo and a Tactical Jammer is an awfully good blocker, boosting into position and then covering the rest of your list.

he is quite fun to play along with nien nunb and push the limit. Nien Nunb makes the white 1 a green maneuver, so you can always get your two actions, even if you are ionized while stressed. not sure its tournament caliber or anything, but it's certainly quite fun on the Falcon.

In the FAQ it does stat that Nien Numb does not make ion 1 white a grren so it would still be white.

I can see some of the points that are being made, just for 2 points and taking up my crew solt he just is "ok" to me.

I do like the idea of controlling when if possible to take the second ion, that is a pretty good idea. Thanks.

My apology's, I want back and reread it. I may have been looking at an older one or just read it wrong, any thanks for calling me out on it lol.

If you have no stress inducing enemies this is great to use with a second crew slot with Nien Nunb on the Falcon. In that case you could even Ptl or use it with EI. You will do a 1 forward but as long as the enemy does not punish you too hard for it, you can use it every turn to boost. After the 1 straight made green by Nunb you get rid of a stress, can PTL again.

On the Outrider it's still great but don't use Leebo every turn there or people will end in the Donut.

I think Leebo could be useful on Chewbacca or Lando (Han probably wants the standard engine upgrade). The Yt-1300 has two crew slots and unless you´re going Fat Falcon you might very well still have that second crew slot open. C3PO is an auto-include for me if I´m running a YT-1300 but I might consider running Leebo for the other slot if I have 2 spare points. If you run into a swarm, that timely boost might win the game for you.

I use him on my dash maybe once a match or multiple times if I'm in an advantageous position that a one straight next round won't matter. It's very situational but useful. Barrel roll tends to do the trick but the boost is sometimes better & has saved his hide a few times.
