Force Pike: does the card have an error?

By poldus, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

It's unusual but just means you can use surge twice for +1 damage each, If this was written just the once you could only get a single +1 damage.

Yup, one may only trigger each individual Surge effect once per attack, but this way the Pike will allow/enable you to do 2 x 1 extra Damage IF you roll 2 (unconcealed) Surge results

Forensicus is on the Money,
See page 24 of the Rules Reference Guide, under Surges.

"Each Surge ability can be triggered only once per attack."

Its little rules like this that drastically change the balance and it makes you wonder what rules are missed by players claiming one side or the other always wins.

Echoing others and adding a bit of clarity, it provides a particular 'cost vs reward' element to the pike. Other items have <surge>: 2 <dmg> (DL-44 comes to mind), so the idea is if you want the extra 2 dmg, you can get it but it'll cost you another surge.

On a side note... I've seen people using the actually block and surge symbols in the forum. Can we get those with the knowledge to hit us up with the keys to the iconography?

powda, can you tell me the thread you have seen this in, and I'll check if I can figure out what the character is.

I'd like to know too if it's available.

I've been searching for that thread but can't find it. I assume it was not actually text. My suspicion is that he made the image and then inserted the linked image into the text. I won't know, though, until we find that thread.

That's my impression as well.

It certainly wasn't a font, no ASCII codes or anything along those lines. Much like other forums, it's my guess that images have been added somewhere and a particular call to those images is what is needed. Much like a 'tag' or what have you. I'll find it.
