Innsmouh for GBP 27 at Amazon.co.uk

By zeb, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

EDIT: 22 June -> price drop!

Hi,

This will probably interest UK customers only, but Innsmouth is on preorder at Amazon.co.uk for £27.44, free P&P. It is sold directly by Amazon (not a third-party). For some reason, it is announced for the 30th of June only, although many other shops have it already in stock (but at least at a price of £36 minimum). They must certainly collect pre-orders. For this price, it is probably worth the wait.

Well, that's a nice bargain indeed.

I managed to get my IH copy for EUR 40 at my local shop- I just couldn't believe it was SO cheap! ^___^

Yeah, dang it, that is like 65$ or something USD. Which is the same price over here, if not worse.

I've always been confused about that. When I'm over in Europe, I pay like 5€ for the same sandwhich in the US, which costs 5$ here, but a euro is around 1.50$. So is everything more expensive in Europe/UK?

I probably just lack a basic understanding of global economy.

After being in both Italy and the US, I'd say yes: the crappy Euro thing just managed to get all prices rise by some 50% in a few years.

I wish salaries increased that much too.

But you know, Arkham Horror games sell for some EUR 20-25 (small box expansions) and 45-50 (big boxes), so finding a new release like Innsmouth for "just" 40 bucks, well, it's luck.

Dang, that stinks. Well, thanks for clearing things up.

You're **** right, Gott (about cost of everything here, AND about Inssmouth) - and guess what : this is precisely how I got my Inssmouth and Talisman Dungeon boxes this week... hurray ! Thought, I must admit I took almost one hour to discover everything that was in Inssmouth box... against two minutes for Dungeon. How did they dare... looks cheap, I'm sorry ! Bah, anyway. Got to expand this goddamn outer region with the four probable expansions...

Well, I think it has more to do with the VAT, duty tax and transportation costs than the Euro this time. And I can tell you that here in the UK many people would have like to switch to the Euro when the Pound was 1.6 euro instead of 1.1 nowadays (especially those who are retired and expatriated).

The price has now dropped to £27.44 ! That's a deal !
