Maneuver template holder with LEGO bricks

By Fuertuvius, in X-Wing

That's actually kind of cool. :)

Great idea. Gonna make a 3D model just like that for my 3D printer :D

LEGOs are awesome. I love when people make useful stuff for board games. I remember coming across this crazy Arkham Horror tool a long time ago:

And, of course, themed dice towers!

OK, I lied. The first prototype I'll print will be something like this:

Mein Got, ist full of stars!

I am so totally going to build that!!

I could have used one of these yesterday.. some cramped spacing at a couple tables.. this would have been awesome... alas.. I have no legos... may have to buy one from somewhere.. I think applied perspective has one you can get... in plastic...

i so need a manoeuvrings template holder!

Woah - I'm gonna force my toddler to make this for me.

I tried that on my 9 year old.. he stared at me and said You want me to use my legos on that for you? DAD what are you thinking?

I picked one up from CorSec that holds the damage deck as well as the maneuver templates.

Does the job and looks great as well.

From the topic I thought someone else had come up with this idea:

It's not that expensive? Just go to the shop and pick a brick, buy the exact pieces you need.

Now somebody build us a dial out of LEGOs!

Have to amend my earlier statement.. the plastic one you can order is from Corsec, not applied, as I mentioned previously.. aaaaaaaand... I just bought one.. lol.. 20 bucks with shipping, and it has a place to hold your damage deck as well.

I give credit to the OP as this is a nifty project, but I dont own legos, and dont wanna try and figure out how many pieces I need or where they go.. lol.. job well done, and for those of you that are building your own, good luck and have fun with it.

****. I just visited Corsec and that is great! One of the most annoying aspects of the game for is finding somewhere to place everything where I can see it decently. It's OK at home, but elsewhere it's a real pain.

Think I might pick one up. £16 roughly delivered to the UK.

Agreed SDCC, at the tourney I played saturday, we had a couple of tables with limited space and I ended up cramped and looking everywhere for my templates. This would have been amazing to have.. lol I'm a little OCD so I like a neat play area..

Corsec has a decent price on it, and wish I had gotten one long ago..

Here here! I like everything to be just so and in its place. But when you've got a 3x3 table and your templates and tokens are on your chair or worst still.....under the table! Then it's pretty shoddy and I don't like it.

This would at least keep a lot of stuff tidy and satisfy my need to be organised somewhat.

Is that design posted online anywhere? I'd like to print one off.

I've built playable ships (Y-Wing, TIE Fighter, Firespray, HWK-290) and movement selectors from Lego. No dice or movement templates yet.

What would you use to glue the pieces together? I know super glue leaves a frosted coating after it dries so I don't want to use it again.
