List Reaction (YT2400, Y(orB), X)

By skins1924, in X-Wing Squad Lists

This is the list I am thinking of taking to the upcoming store championships. I flew this list against last night against a Decimator list (lost) and a 3 interceptor list (won) I am not sure if I should keep trying it or change to my alternate list below. Which one do you think is better.

100 points

Eaden Vrill + Recon

Hobbie Klivian + R3-A2

Nera Dantels + 2x Flechette, Recon, Deadeye, E2, Advanced sensors

In the first game Hobbie went down quick and I couldn't get Nera in position to shoot the Decimator with the engine once her Torpedoes were gone. Second game Nera died before she fired any torpedos but the interceptors couldn't cope with the extra stress and eventually fell.

Alternate list idea

98 points (could put gunner on Vrill instead)

Eaden Vrill + Recon

Hobbie Klivian + R3-A2

Horton Salm + Dead Eye, R2-D6, Ion Turrent, 2x Flechette

I guess if these both suck too bad I could just buy in to the Dash/Decimator craze

I like Nera more than Horton, but Horton shoots a lot sooner in the PS order so its easier to use. That is a tough call. Makes Eaden Vrill kind of beastly having enemies with that much stress.

I know. I am bad at flying Bs. I think with this list I have to put Vrill in the thick of it for the first round combat then fly him past and use his turret. Letting Nera and Hobbies move slow and deal stress. The YT won't go down in the first two rounds of shooting in this 2 ship meta.

Hmmm, I like Horton better than the Nera. If Horton comes out slow to launch the torpedoes first, which is the most predictable shot, then he can speed up and shoot his turret as the others lag. His re-rolls are also fantastic. However, I'm a bigger fan of blaster turret than ion turret. Horton is likely to be more deadly with a blaster and you can use the focus for it or the torpedoes. With only one green saving the focus for defense is not great and with his rerolls of blanks you already have an semi-target lock/predator effect. Then add munitions failsafe to get to 99 points.

I think Horton will be the target of focused fire though, so I might also switch the. Flechette for a proton torpedo, but that does take away a bit from your stress stacking strategy with R3-A2 and Hobbie and the EPT pick of deadeye. Nonetheless, I think it is deadlier with Horton's reroll. If you drop deadeye, I think elusiveness is great for extra longevity on y's. With a turret you can afford green moves on a regular basis. Swarm tactics might also be good for getting another key ship up to PS 8.

Looking forward to playing against whatever you pick. :-)

See you at the dinning groom table Norse. :)
