So, I just bought my second Firespray

I had a moment of weakness. Ever since the most-recent(?) FAQ, I've been having a love affair with proximity mines dropped from TIE Bombers. Unfortunately, I only had one because I only had a singe Firespray. However, I'm not going to spend $30 to just get one card.

Until I did. Last night.

Well, I've also been flying my Firespray more lately, and I've been casually thinking about running a two-Firespray list, and those combined pushed me over the edge when I saw one on the shelf of a FLGS last night. (My usual FLGSs have been out of Firesprays for months.)

So, with that history told, I now have two Firesprays, and I'm wondering what the collective wisdom on running them is. I did dig through the old threads a little, but we are in a different world now with Wave 5 and the current meta.

So, what are your double Firespray ideas?

A lot of people who do dual firesprays use hlc on both, I am not a fan of that since it makes you k turn which defeats the point of having a rear firing arc

I've been thinking about HLCs, and then having it be a very jousty list where the read firing arc covers the move after the pass, and allows the next turn to do the K-turn out of range of the opponent.

The shrewd opponent would then try to avoid a jousting game.

I'm looking forward to running predator and recon specialist on a pair after S&V comes out. Until then got my 2nd firespray for the same reason you did plus vet instincts.

Okay, so I flew the following list:

Kath Scarlet

- Marksmanship

- Mercenary Copilot

- Heavy Laser Cannon

- Seismic Charge

Krassis Trelix

- Recon Specialist

- Heavy Laser Cannon

- Seismic Charge

I went 3-1 at the FLGS this last night, which is better than I usually do, though my not all my opponents were as seasoned as I am (I've been playing for about 10 months now).

It doesn't seem like you can place the bombs as well with Firesprays as you can with bombers, because you can't lure your opponent into the wrong spot as easily with that read firing arc grinning at them in the baffles. (Yes, I'm looking forward to Emon Azzameen.)

I think that Kath's ability is a bit of a dud, or at least it was against the builds I was flying against. I imagine that if I was flying against builds with more green dice (such as Phantoms or A-Wings), her ability would trigger more often. Since people were taking crits, I wasn't about to complain, though.

It also seems to violate Paul Heaver's advice to not have all your ships have the same weakness. But, I suppose that's already a lost cause in a double-Firespray list.

Overall, I think it was a fairly solid build, even if it was somewhat boring to fly. Still, I think it could be made better, but I'd like to hear people's thoughts about that.

I ran 3 naked Firesprays at my tourney this weekend, came in 4th place.. it was a hoot.

I think a good 2 Firespray list ie Kath and Boba.. you can get a good amount of upgrades and if you really want you can do HLCs, but I tend to only give one of them the HLC .. just my thing.. bombs are fun on them.. I'm looking forward to the new title, as I'm gonna run it on one for 3 bombs.. lol.. just too much fun.. I do love prox mines for that.. I moved first, so here's some lovin before you move.. lol

Where did you find a $30 Firespray!?! I'd gladly pay 30 for another but I can't find any in my area or online south of $55.

I got one at Barnes and Nobel just before christmas for 30 bucks...

I'm sure there will be better Scum dual Firespray lists but I'm planning on giving this one a shot:

2 x Mando Mercs w/Predator

Torkil Mux w/Ion Cannon Turret

I don't think there's much point to the imperial Firespray characters apart from Krassis. I tried Boba at a tournament, thinking that his cost to stat ratio would give him an edge against turrets (7 points apart from Han/Chiraneau, which is a free HLC) and V.I plus rear arc and banks would make him a nice phantom slayer. Didn't work out too well, sadly, but that might have been my terrible luck (never rolled above 2 hits with HLC shots, always rolled hits for obstructions which lost me my first game...)

For casual play, though, I wouldn't mind trying the Krassis package for reliability (krassis, HLC, recon) and banking Boba with the proxy mine (seems like the indecisive banks would be great for angling the mine). There's still 12 points of upgrades for grabs, but hell if I know what to do with them.

That is probably the most well rounded Solely 2 Firespray list I've seen. Though, you can run almost the exact same thing (but with Recom Spec instead) using the Scum pilots, and it is by far a much better list solely due to the better Pilot abilities.

I'm a big fan of:

Bounty Hunter + Tactician

Bounty Hunter + Tactician

Soontir Fel + PTL

You get 2 Firesprays, an Interceptor, and some fun stress mechanics that you barely even have to plan for as the list literally works fine with any other 4 pts of upgrades in its place.

Whoo, getting some love from phil for my imp firespray list!

Speaking of phil, I've been trying his advice of using tacticians on firesprays since with scum I can't use rebel captive anymore unfortunately, so need some other way to dish out stress. So far I'm 7-1 with this version using the scum pilots.

The tacticians haven't made a huge difference in any of my games yet, but I also haven't had many where they really would have. Want to play against some ships with PTL or EI or opportunist, etc, that would really get hurt by extra stress.
